Ed Schultz: Neal Boortz, Right Wing Radio Using 'Racist And Violent Rhetoric' (VIDEO)

Ed Schultz said he is worried about right-wing rhetoric after playing a clip of a talk show host calling for the streets of Atlanta to be "littered" with "dead thugs."
Speaking on his Wednesday show, Schultz challenged conservative talk show host Neal Boortz to appear on his MSNBC show and defend controversial comments he made about Atlanta on Monday:
BOORTZ: We got too damn many urban thugs, yo, ruining the quality of life for everybody. And I'll tell you what it's gonna take. You people, you are - you need to have a gun. You need to have training. You need to know how to use that gun. You need to get a permit to carry that gun. And you do in fact need to carry that gun and we need to see some dead thugs littering the landscape in Atlanta.
"There's something very ugly and dangerous going on in this country," Schultz said. "Right wing talk show hosts seem to be amping up racist and reckless rhetoric like never before ... the level of racist and violent rhetoric on hard-right wing radio today is off the charts."
He said that, in his opinion, Boortz "just advocated murder in the streets of Atlanta," and guessed that "Neal wasn't thinking of white thugs." Schultz also called Boortz "reckless, stupid and a racist."
He then challenged Boortz to "come on this program tomorrow night, and can you bring pictures? Can you show me who these thugs are? ... You're advocating damn near civil war."
Schultz also accused Glenn Beck of promoting violence for saying earlier this week, "Why would you get a gun? To prepare for tough times, that's why," while pointing at a picture of President Obama.
I DARE the Republicans of FP to defend this...

Isn't that even legal to say? He's basically trying to incite a massacre.
While I oppose street thugs as much as the next person, this is not the way to do it.

Do you think these guys care? So long as they get some good ol' boys to kill some savages.
"I hate niggers"
I am now a successful right-wing radio show host

"Muslim nations are more moral than us, because they kill gays."
Which of these three is an actual quote?
Edit:
"The Indians were immoral savages, and deserved to be conquered for not converting to Christianity."
I gotta stop... :ohdear:

Not a republican here, but I have to say, I don't see the racist part of his statement. I mean if you really want to associate "thugs" with a particular race, that's your choice I guess.
Even so, he never advocated murdering people, for all we know in that context he was talking about concealed carry people stopping criminals.
Finally, sorry, I don't trust the huffpo to report shit.

Why is it that this article and that statement sounds like its invoking more stereotypes than the person who made the statement in the first place.
You've turned a retarded statement into a bigoted one because you're the one assuming thugs and people who say "yo" are some minority, maybe you're just painting him with the bigot brush because that's the correct conclusion to draw from a republican in your view, but I refuse to play the "who's a racist?" guessing game drawing conclusions from second hand accounts by the huffington post of all places.
Maybe he is a racist, that isn't really the point, he isn't saying "yo let's kill the blacks" or something to that effect, it's something you have to infer yourself.
What about successful black people in the middle class? Do they fall under the same category? Did he mention anything about killing those people?
I was raised in baltimore am I a urban thug

I don't feel particularly thuggish

[editline]22nd June 2011[/editline]
is that violent enough
s0beit did you lose a bet?
Reminds me of that guy on Somethingawful who said he'd support a rival sports team for their next 200 posts if they won, and they did win
So he made 200 fantastic posts that, no matter the subject, managed to work in how great the rival team was
Maybe s0beit has some kind of conservative toxx clause
guess he would've gotten toxx clause'd otherwise

So he makes his living off of being a moron, like i said I don't really care if he is a racist, it may very well be true. Telling people to go get armed and saying it will result in "dead thugs" isn't a racist statement in and of itself.
It might be a very stupid one from your view, to me I don't see anything wrong with people owning guns and I definitely don't shed tears for actual criminals who get shot in the commission of a crime.
I just don't like how close his statement is to "get a gun, arm yourself, kill criminals" (which by the way, no, your primary goal should not be to kill criminals if you're armed, that's not what I'm saying) is automatically racist because he used the word "thug".
I just wouldn't like somebody else who doesn't have a hate-based radio talk show saying something similar to this and being labelled a racist, because obviously, people who have guns want to kill black people.

If it were just criminals he advocated killing, then that's a whole different issue.
BTW, urban is codeword for black.
Killing people is an acceptable way to resolve any issue. Prove me wrong.
Honestly, I probably wouldn't feel safe walking through Atlanta without a gun either.
This isn't hate based I don't think, it's more stupid based. Besides, the only conservative talk radio host who is even capable of raising decent points is Limbaugh.
That might be very true but I still think Ed Schultz is a gigantic tool.
