i've been seeing several teasers on tumblr recently
Wait why make an official anoucment like that? I thought ONI was trying to paste Chief as an evil terrorist?
Incoming casuals who know nothing about whats happening currently in-universe
I assume something fishy is going on since Spartans are never listed as KIA
What's up with the massive space station being built next to a Halo? [t]http://i.imgur.com/850UBKw.png[/t]
I assume something fishy is going on since Spartans are never listed as KIA
quite possibly or they just kinda stopped that shit seeing as spartans are no longer hush hush icons of humanity's fighting spirit and more just badass soldiers now, who knows

[t]http://i.imgur.com/850UBKw.png[/t]
All the Halos where found and now have permanent stations around them so the rings can be studied
quite possibly or they just kinda stopped that shit seeing as spartans are no longer hush hush icons of humanity's fighting spirit and more just badass soldiers now, who knows
Considering everything else that ONI has been doing, this is certain to be more of their bullshit
Incoming casuals who know nothing about whats happening currently in-universe
I'm sorry that I only play the games and don't read the books, read the comic books, watch the mini-series, listen to the podcasts, and use the cereal box decoder ring to decode the secret message. If there's one thing I hate about 343's Halo, it's that if you want to understand anything about what's going on, you have to read a bunch of expanded universe shit. At least with Bungie's games the books and stuff were just flavor text to flesh out the background. You could still understand the main story by just playing the games. But now they kill off major characters in books, and they have Chief take care of the Didact (the BIG BAD THAT YOU INTRODUCED IN THE PREVIOUS GAME) in a comic book so they don't have to deal with the shitshow of a story they wrote in the next game.

Hence why this game has nothing to do with ANY of the shit that happened in 4 except for MC's well being. if you dont wanna read the books, fine you don't gotta. The game will most certainly explain everything for you (waaah waaah the trailers dont tell me all the story!!), so just hold onto your panties. That being said, to say that Halo hasn't always been about the extended universe is hilarious. just cause you were too young to really dig into the meat of the series doesn't mean it never existed. [editline]27th September 2015[/editline] that being said, posts like
Incoming casuals who know nothing about whats happening currently in-universe
certainly arent helping either.
ONI is trying to slander and get rid of Chief for those wondering. They originally tried to portray him as a terrorist and now it seems like they're going all out and pretending he's dead as opposed to the typical Spartan MIA [editline]28th September 2015[/editline]
I'm sorry that I only play the games and don't read the books, read the comic books, watch the mini-series, listen to the podcasts, and use the cereal box decoder ring to decode the secret message. He wasn't even like Chief were he had a slight bit of personality or importance, he was literally a player insert who meant nothing in terms of the universe.
Incoming casuals who know nothing about whats happening currently in-universe
what kind of new-breed-elitist mentality is this
But now they kill off major characters in books, and they have Chief take care of the Didact (the BIG BAD THAT YOU INTRODUCED IN THE PREVIOUS GAME) in a comic book so they don't have to deal with the shitshow of a story they wrote in the next game.
Didact was already thought dead in Halo 4. They brought him back in the comics, and killed him in the comics. Couldn't have really handled it better. This way, he's not relevent to the next game and people won't be wondering "wait, didn't we kill this guy in the last one?"
Incoming casuals who know nothing about whats happening currently in-universe
Imagine actually being elitist about a game like Halo lmao I'm really not optimistic about the franchise anymore (and haven't for the past 2 games), maybe I'm just getting old and the magic has lost its touch, but it seems like 343 has done a really shit job of these games, and I don't see this one being any different. Wish they'd just let it die a good death and be done with it. Last Halo game I was hyped for and loved was Halo 3, fuck that was awesome.
How am I an elitist lmao. I just wanted to call out the halo hate bandwagon before it showed up. It always just shows up cause no one knows whats actually happening and they start assuming shit. Stop taking casual as an insult and chill, I meant it as literally a casual consumer like most of you are.
Seemed really cheesy to me. Atleast, compared to the other live action shots in the previous installments.
Kinda lessens the gravity of the trailer when they already had something like it for the halo 3 trailers.
The Halo universe Live Action stuff has always been amazing. Why can't they make a movie. I don't understand what they've done with the story. Halo was about humanity in complete desperation, resorting to Nazi Germany methods of moral abandonment just to keep the species from the brink of extinction, to whatever the fuck it is we have now.
Kinda lessens the gravity of the trailer when they already had something like it for the halo 3 trailers.
Yeah all I could think of was the much better BELIEVE trailers for Halo 3
The Halo universe Live Action stuff has always been amazing.
They were actually making one with the director of District 9 and Peter Jackson and had Paramount and Fox onboard. Then Microsoft wanted something like 70% of the profit and everyone pulled out
That being said, to say that Halo hasn't always been about the extended universe is hilarious. just cause you were too young to really dig into the meat of the series doesn't mean it never existed.
You're missing the point, the extended universe is good, it's when it becomes essential to follow the critical plot that there's a problem. Halo was great because it had a good expanded universe to dig in to, but if you just wanted to play 1-3 you could do it without having to read or watch anything outside of the games and your experience would be well rounded and wouldn't be worse off for not having read in to the EU. 4 kinda threw a wrench in that because if you weren't familiar with the EU you'd have a gimped experience. Even as someone who DID know the EU stuff, I still felt it was a shitty way to tell the story. And that's not counting the problems the story had to begin with.
Honestly I just don't like the direction 343 took it, not just in the story but in the aesthetics too, the new spartans look gay as fuck compared to the ones we saw in bungie games, and so do the marines and you don't even get 2 see odsts anymore. like they completely fucked up halo's aesthetics imho. [editline]28th September 2015[/editline] And like what the fuck is this story, I swear they could've handled showing what happened after the big war way better, instead i just get vibes of "you thought the covenant was bad? well guess what random x shit is waaayyy wooorseee"
So what, is the chief dead now?
That scene around 0:17 looks like Reach
I hope they release an extended cut, might leave more of an impact. The extended version of "Deliver Hope" turned the trailer into one of my favorites.
