Feb. 15, 2018. It looks faithful to the artstyle and keep the top-down perspective.
Not sure if I like the voice acting. But the artstyle looks good from what little they show, maybe they'll fix the slightly buggy combat
This is so refreshing since the series devolved into some garbage mobile game.
Apparently there's a minimap in-game that resembles/uses the original SNES graphics, and it does look like they're trying to stick to the original judging by limited screenshots. [editline]25th August 2017[/editline] [t]http://i.imgur.com/yG86TBB.jpg[/t]
i love secret of mana but that visual style makes it look like some garbage asian MMO.
i love secret of mana but that visual style makes it look like some garbage asian MMO.
At least its a little better than how the IOS/Steam version of Final Fantasy VI graphically looks like something made in an RPG Maker knockoff.
I must be the only person on earth who absolutely can't stand Secret of Mana. That being said this looks like a pretty good remake. I mean, if you're into that sort of thing.

Which is really a shame because it's a mechanically highly improved sequel with a large cast of playable characters and a much larger scope. It's also a beautiful game visually. I hope they take a few notes from that game since it plays far better than Secret of Mana. [editline]25th August 2017[/editline] Weird that there's no Switch version, obviously graphically the game isn't particularly demanding and the Seiken Densetsu Collection that was released on Switch was specifically gauging interest in the series and probably got this one greenlit.
I like the character models, not so much the environment.
I think the first environment they show looks alright, the other one better just be hilariously unfinished because oh boy. I hope that's just a hastily-assembled mockup. I actually don't mind lower-poly games with modest graphical fidelity as long as they have good texturework and animations that don't suck. Unfortunately this level of graphics and poor animation tend to go hand in hand.
Looks cool, but they're trying to recreate the SNES version too much. My opinion they should just went and making it completely 3D Action RPG, not this top down stuff like the original was.
It reminds m of the FF4 DS remake. It just doesn't look good. Probably plays just the same though.
Please let there be network co-op.
