David Miliband is planning to leave Parliament to move to the US to work for a charity, a close friend has confirmed to the BBC.
Mr Miliband, a former foreign secretary, was beaten to the Labour leadership in 2010 by his brother Ed.
There had been widespread rumours that he was set for a return to the opposition front bench, with Ed Miliband insisting recently that "the door is open".
He was the best Miliband. :(
That man genuinely looks like a monkey in that picture.

Most politicians do.
Is this gunna make another byelection then?
A shame. I was talking to a friend the other day about politics and she is a major Labour support. I said I would have considered voting Labour if it had been David instead of Ed.

In 2008 he was reportedly considering a bid to challenge Gordon Brown as Labour leader and therefore Prime Minister. Then that photo came out and everyone laughed at him so he didn't do it
he looks like such a mong, there was no way he was going to get the leadership

David Cameron doesn't. His rubber mask that hides his disgusting inhuman face is specifically designed not to evoke any animal.
That's why his head looks like a condom.

Cheerio, I won't miss you.
God damn it I got the name confused with Ed Miliband, you know, the important one? I was actually excited.

this is probably why he quit
I hate the way Ed Miliband talks, not having a go at his lisp, just how horrible his style is.
Makes me want to reach through the TV and punch him.
I mightve voted for David Miliband had he won.
Labour are pretty boring atm. I'm not really sure I could name one thing they'd do if they were elected, except stop bitching about the cuts
Maybe that will change as we go into election season

If only they had a personality like UKIP.
let the drama begin
He should lay off the bananas judging by his teeth, his brothers a bellend too.
So he didn't get Ed's job but now he's moving to New York for a job earning double what Ed earns?

Um david miliband was still a pretty important figure and one of the best potential labour party leaders, part of him quitting was the media undermining his policies by focusing on some perceived tension between him and his brother, it's not a great thing to lose someone who's actually a good politician
http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/2013/03/david-miliband-gone-partys-talent-pool-has-just-become-even-shallower
also ed miliband's a pretty good leader, if not exactly credible at first glance, so shut up

fuck off don't start this
I thought you were a tory at first which I just disagree with, if you support UKIP you're fucking retarded and your opinion isn't worth the entry in the forum database it's stored in

He lost to his brother, there was no way that he could have come back from that, in the same way that Gordon Brown couldn't have continued being Labour leader after the 2010 election. To be fair, by removing himself he has taken away the risk of the media perpetuating a divide in the Party - although he's taking up a job with twice the yearly salary of his brother at a "charity".
Define good politician. He was a major contributor to Labour's 1997 manifesto, which although granted them office, after the 13 years of power left this country in a worse state than when they came into power - £156 billion budget deficit in 2010 thanks to you, Labour.
Ed Miliband is a horrific leader, at first glance he doesn't appear credible and upon further inspection he is even less credible. The latest opinion polls put Labour on 37%, which seems much better than the Conservative's 27%, right? But consider the fact that the Conservatives have lost a lot of core support to UKIP, who are on 17%, and you can add the two sections together to form a small 'c' conservative section of 44% of the vote. Historically it has been the case that a party holding office will have significantly lower opinion poll results anyway, and given the abysmal record of the Coalition whilst in office, Labour should be doing much better.
Here is the Labour homepage, can you please show me where their policies are hidden? Because the Conservative's are right here, the Lib Dems have had a go at them here and even UKIP's are right here. Ed Miliband has been leader of the Labour party for 2.5 years and only now are we starting to see suggestions of policies other than sheer Coalition opposition. Even the recent 10p tax rate Ed Miliband added his name to had the added disclaimer that it was not a definite manifesto pledge. Do you really think he's a pretty good leader?
Ha ha ha ha

We live in a democracy you cretin, one where people's political beliefs are valid and are to be considered no matter what they may be - we do not discriminate against people due to their political beliefs, this is even in the Commonwealth Anti-Discrimination Charter. UKIP are becoming a larger party by the week and all anyone can ever muster in their opposition is slander.
