NBC's sci-fi series Heroes is being revived as a 13-episode limited series, with creator Tim Kring back at the helm but a new cast of characters and a self-contained storyline that's "shrouded in secrecy."
The series, which aired from 2006-2010, will return in 2015 as Heroes Reborn, NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke announced Saturday, adding that some former cast members might "pop" back in for cameos. The characters and plots will be introduced in a digital series that will precede the TV premiere.
And here's a teaser-as-fuck teaser trailer.

Nice. I liked Heroes, at least the first ~2 seasons.
I have hope since its the original creator and a contained storyline.
"The enormous impact Heroes had on the television landscape when it first launched in 2006 was eye-opening. Shows with that kind of resonance don't come around often and we thought it was time for another installment. We're thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept. Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won't rule out the possibility of some of the show's original cast members popping back in."
You dont hear something like that everyday
I never ended up watching the entirety of the first season and only saw a couple of episodes of the second. (just watched the when my dad did)
I really liked it though, but it really did get worse as it went on thanks to the classic popularity trap.
A new short take on it sounds good.

No. It got bad because of the writers strike. A lot of shows took a hit during that time.
Heroes ended on one hell of a cliffhanger
Heroes would have been incredible if it weren't for the writer's strike and if they had stuck to the original idea of self contained stories with different casts each season.
This sounds like it's going to be exactly that. Put me down as excited.
The first season of Heroes was one of the best things I've seen on TV, so a new beginning for the show is something I very much want to see.
Hope they bring back Masi Oka as Hiro.
I just finished the show on Netflix a few months back with a friend of mine. We both were very disappointed in the cliff hanger ending. Pretty cool they're going to make 1 more season.
Oh awesome, I loved Heroes. It really deserved a proper ending, it was just starting to get good again and was leading up to something big.
Oh god.
I hate being a VFX artist and I notice the fucking preset lensflares they just used in that teaser.
I really want to know about Sylar though... Like I could give a shit about all the other people at this point now but I want to know about Sylar because that's one hell of a cliffhanger, and there's probably gonna be some serious retconning going on.

THAT'S what it was, I couldn't for the life of me remember what happened. I remember watching it and liking it, then something happened and I stopped watching it and when I came back it was just too god damn confusing and convoluted.
Guessing it's going to continue on with the cliff hanger where Claire [sp]reveals her powers on national Tv[/sp]
Would love a cameo from some of the other characters.
I always liked Heroes even if the quality dipped by the strike.
24 is doing work :v:
I really liked Heroes at the time and i'm glad it's coming back. The last series wasn't so good, but i enjoyed the others. The fan-theories about all the mystery and unexplained things were quite interesting to read.
It's a bit disappointing that it isn't going to continue where it left off, some of the characters (like Hiro) were great.
I really wish they didn't nerf Peter in the series.
However I'm glad this is coming back.
they HAVE to have peter/sylar have a cameo, even if it's future scar peter.
Yatta!
Even though season 2 was terrible, it very gradually got better. I am hyped.
I hope we see more of the Company. In the first few series they were great, i really enjoyed all the secretive stuff about them. I didn't like how they decided to get rid of them.

I kind of hope that the old series characters won't actually interact with the new characters.
For example Claire. She'd jump off of the ferris wheel and become this big news story. She'd appear in a load of interviews and show up on the new characters TVs. Maybe they could squeeze in a couple of clips of a camera crew asking any witnesses about what happened, which would include Peter, Sylar, and Noah. Maybe Claire could write some shitty autobiography.
They'd affect new characters, but I'd prefer not to directly follow the old characters.

I stopped watching when they made sylar into the president character.
Heroes was only good up to season 2, past that not even Hiro could save it.
I really go back to the quality of the first series. It really got a lot worse with each series
I wouldn't mind people like Noah coming back and interacting with the new characters, maybe Sylar but in a limited capacity and where he's not the villain throughout.
Really enjoyed the first couple of seasons of heroes, glad they're bringing it back in hopefully a better format
I loved the shit out of Heroes but the quality degraded season by season and by the time it got to the carnival or whatever I lost interest

Pretty much this. The story by then was just... Ugh. Very boring, convoluted, pointless.
I remember the one time I watched an episode of this.
Some guy's nipples were bleeding and he was alone in the middle of a forest or something.
I hope it has a cast of characters and a plot as tight as season one. Season one was so great because you had all these interesting characters with problems and on a mission. All the pieces fell together in the last episode perfectly.
I never got around to the third season. I like the show, but was to exhausted to follow it.
