The business secretary added there needed to be "political oversight of the intelligence services". Earlier, a senior UK security expert said the leaking of documents by Edward Snowden was the "most catastrophic loss to British intelligence ever". ... Mr Cable told BBC Radio 4' Today programme: "I think Mr Snowden's contribution is two-fold. One is a positive one - the whistleblowing - the other is more worrying which is a large amount of genuinely important intelligence material does seem to have been passed across. "We do need to have proper political oversight of the intelligence services and arguably we haven't until now," he added.
I'd say sure if he actually kept leaking shit but he leaked a few things and then ran away.

Yeah, what leaked was catastrophic, but is pretty much faded from public eye. If he'd stayed inside and kept leaking things through a code name, that would've been fantastic.
I didn't realize he got the UK's intel too. I was listening to thew news and it said he has 58,000 British documents.

Its wise to avoid stuff like that.
I'm pretty sure that's the idea behing their trickle leak, they want to keep the whole thing in the news as long as possible, releasing new absurdities every now and then.

In small chunks people can actually take it in and understand it.
Yeah, what leaked was catastrophic, but is pretty much faded from public eye. If he'd stayed inside and kept leaking things through a code name, that would've been fantastic.
this is real life, not a spy movie
this is real life, not a spy movie
What if that data got into the hands of the russians. What then huh?
this is real life, not a spy movie
Which is why I was saying it would've been better if he continued to leak things. Plus, there isn't nearly enough room for either scenario to have explosions and sex with some female character.
I'm fairly certain he could've easily avoided it since he's inside and everything.
Trace the source of the leak, imprison leaker and make sure he doesn't speak for himself and faces humiliation.
What if that data got into the hands of the russians. What then huh?
its been in the russian's hands they interigated him for like 3 days when he got into moscow airport, why do you think he's all but dissappeared from the goverment. The NSA and the White house know exactly what he has, if he had anything worse than what has already come out, they would have gotten him by now or rallied public opinion about getting him, whats come out since the leaks has been shocking, but not really surprising given the initial leaks
I'm fairly certain he could've easily avoided it since he's inside and everything.
There are only so many places you can flee to. Moscow would have gladly had him in chains if he didn't agree to their terms.
