My £500 ASUS Transformer Prime from 2 years ago is beginning to feel like a poor investment.

Because iPad is the only tablet out there.
For fucks sake, why does every tablet need to be compared to the iPad
For fucks sake, why does every tablet need to be compared to the iPad
How they will otherwise get attention?
why is the camera in the very corner

Same reason every MP3 player was compared to the iPod, technically it's not the best. But it's the biggest product in the market, profitwise.

because the ipad made the tablet market

Probably with not enough RAM in it to support it.
can't wait for the lidl tablet at £29

I wouldn't have gone for £500, but I got my original Transformer back a few years ago for £350, and have to say that it's not exactly aged nobly, but it's still pretty useful if I don't want to lug my ideapad to uni. Kind of miffed they stopped it at ICS though, and the keyboard's kind of dodgy now, though it still has the 16 hours batterylife, which impresses me.
Spin the clock forward a couple years and they'll be selling tablets for £30 each

My mp3 player was a black stick and everyone called it an iPod.
It#s just one of those things.

So you're dabbling around with your non-apple tablet and one of your grandparents come around.
Guess what they'll say to you when they're gonna ramble about how you use it too often?
It'll probably be about as bad as the Hudl too.
why do people still put rear cameras on tablets. ( especially if this is supposed to be a budget tablet. )

QR codes, it's abysmal if you have only a front facing camera.
As for being a photographer with a tablet that's what's retarded. There's nothing more silly than somebody pretending to be a photographer while holding this fucking giant slab of computer in front of people, and crouching.

You and your damn Thigh Pad! When I was your age we had one page of 'A Christmas Carol' between the 17 of us and it was in greek! You kids don't know your born!
You can't believe how it feels like to read about tablets that cost £79 while they are atleast 10 times better than my PC
Now I'm wondering if Ashens will review it when it hits the shelves.
its kinda sad that it doesn't feature a 3G version
isn't "LifeTab" straight up manufactured under/by a name brand?
Can't remember who mind...

What does it even matter how big the screen is? If it had a good sensor and lens then you might as well attach that to a flatscreen tv and I'd use it as a camera. It's about picture quality, not the device that takes them.

It's how the world works.
A vacuum cleaner is often called a Hoover, because Hoover is a brand name of a certain type of vacuum cleaner, and because it was so popular, the term vacuum cleaner is interchangeable with hoover now.
Same thing with Vacuum Flasks (Thermos), Ziplocs (Zip Lock Bag), Lino, Chapstick, Coke, Google (the verb), Jet Ski, Post-It, Photoshop, Winnebago, etc, I could go on.
0.3MP camera in the front oh boy

Pretty much ALL of Aldi's computer related gear is made by Medion.
They have some sort of joint-venture deal in that regard.

Fun fact: Medion is owned by Lenovo, such to the fact that when my friend sent her Lenovo off under warranty, it was repaired by Medion.
More affordable computers is a good thing

In addition, taking pictures of stuff like notes, receipts, homework and all sorts of stuff besides people at a vacation. The rear facing camera is always the better camera than the front facing. Also, it's hard to aim the front facing camera to something other than yourself if you were showing someone something.
Sure you could use your smartphone but the tablet is a good alternative and it's larger screen allows you to see photos of stuff better, such as notes. Plus phones are usually more expensive.
Not related but 10,000 posts. Woo.
