The contest to become Herne Bay’s next MP is set to heat up this weekend with the arrival of Ukip leader Nigel Farage to open a town centre campaign office. Mr Farage is standing in South Thanet, but will be in Mortimer Street on Saturday to support his colleague Piers Wauchope, who is vying to become the town’s MP. The new campaign office will be in Herne Bay’s busiest shopping street, which used to be called the Down to Earth grocery shop, run by Stan Truelove. Mr Truelove, who hopes to be a local Ukip council candidate in May, has given the shop to the party until the lease runs out in March. But he admitted he won’t be able to meet Mr Farage because he is going to watch Manchester United against Leicester. He said: “I am really gutted but that’s the way it is. Mr Farage and I will have to have a pint somewhere else! “I thought I’m paying the rent for the shop until March, so I might as well. After that we will have to find somewhere else in the town. “We have a party office in Ramsgate as well, but it would be nice to have one in Herne Bay.”
Source: http://www.kentonline.co.uk/herne-bay/news/look-whos-coming-to-town-30783 Okay, so I went down to visit my Grandma this week. When I got to there house there was a leaflet through the door saying how UKIP are going to be around Herne Bay and how they can help the people here. We then went into town and as I left one of the stores, I see a UKIP store. So after I pissed myself laughing I had to take pictures of it. They purchased a Grocery store and put a UKIP sign over the old one. He also tried making a visit to the store but a person with a megaphone was taking shit about him in front the door and the security guard got scared and took Farage away. XD Basically the idea is that he is meant to do so much good to the people of Herne Bay they will all start licking his feat. http://i.imgur.com/NZNbdaj.jpg
Is this really news or the fact that you disagree with UKIP?
No, it's news since it is something that is actually happening in Herne Bay. But it is funny because nobody in Herne Bay gives a shit.

You don't have to take a survey to know body gives a fuck.
You don't have to take a survey to know body gives a fuck.
Why did you make a thread? Why did you take a picture? Why was there a person making a scene? Why did the local paper make an article? Nobody cares you say? Surveys are a good way to gather opinion rather than assumptions.
The rational of Ukip and their voters annoys me in that they have the potential to do absolutely nothing productive and they're the only ones who can't see it. For example voting Ukip makes it less likely for Britain to leave the EU and reduce immigration because by focusing on the South East they're directly subtracting from the Conservatives core vote areas. But if you tell this to a Ukip supporter they always fallback on the assertion that either "they don't care" or "The Conservatives are the same as Labour" both of which are silly and neither of which are even arguments.

Opinion Piece =/= news.
"I am a normal bloke who drinks pints just like you so you should vote for me"
You say that like it's stupid or something. It's happened since the 60s with Wilson being known for his simpler and more common tastes allowing him to connect further with the people. It's not an uncommon thing for politicians to try to connect with the larger demographic.

They take many away from labour as well, and also from previous non-voters. Taking votes away from the conservatives was the one thing I thought I could rely on UKIP to do competently, but they're not even doing that properly.

We joke and stuff but they fucking might as well be reptilians for all they have in common with your average man on the street and consuming beer doesn't make them any more like us than everyone has in common by drinking water.
The UKIP shops just look like really shitty pound shops cause of their logo :v:
