To remind that Iohannis came back from a 10% deficit in the first round to win the runoff vote by 10% ahead of his opponent and current PM Victor Ponta. But now the new Romanian president has become even more famous as he managed a record-breaking success on the social website Facebook which, many say, actually paved his way to presidency Klaus Iohannis is not only most popular politician in the country, but also in Europe after his Facebook page revealed 1,000,000 likes a few hours ago. He surpassed all European political figures such as: Angela Merkel (898,444 likes), Nicolas Sarkozy ( 992,609 ), Francois Hollande ( 516,967 ), David Cameron, Sivio Berlusconi, Jean-claude Juncker, Jose Manuel Barroso , Tony Blair etc. and is even ahead of the US officials John McCain and Joe Biden… Tuesday morning, the social page of the newly elected President Klaus Iohannis counted 1 million likes. Iohannis uploaded another “cover photo” while the page “motto” changed from “We won! We’ve taken our country back!” into “let’s get to work!”
To be honest, he looks like a man if action. Hopefully he will start setting things right.
With that last catchphrase he reafirms the stereotype of german work ethic, lol. He went all in on the issue of political corruption and propposed the removal of justice immunity from the senators and deputies, on a TV confrontation with his rival(wich is the PM) from the social democratic party, holding also the majority in the RO parliament. And now because his rival lost on a landslide of 1 million votes difference, some controversial bills in the parliament have failed today. Those would have granted amnistice to corrupt businessmen and politicians wich have constantly been jailed for the past 2 years. It was a sneaky political truce, but in the end the vox populi won. [editline]19th November 2014[/editline] The 2 liberal parties that backed him in the campaign(wich formed a Christian-liberal alliance akin to Merkel's CDU) dismantled after he won; he looks like a man with no strings attached. One of the 2 parties had this symbol before the alliance and the campaign start: [t]http://www.pavlicenco.md/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Sigla-PNL2.jpg[/t] and now it looks like this: [t]http://arges24.ro/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/Sigla-noului-PNL-279x300.png[/t] I don't know if there's any meaning to it, but I thought it was interesting.
He looks like a fusion of Donald Trump and Jack Bauer.
