A judge had recommended the death penalty for the 683 defendants, in a widely-criticised mass trial in April. Mohammed Badie, leader of the banned group, was among those whose sentences were upheld. Appeals are now likely. The military-installed government has sentenced hundreds of its opponents since December.
Stalin would be proud.
rip
Why the fuck is this getting winners? They've been arrested. If this was the Muslim Brotherhood executing hundreds of secular activists, you'd be up in arms. I fucking despise what the Brotherhood stands for, but murdering them won't make things any easier.
That's going to be a ton of martyrs.

Not every part in the world is the same, not every part in the world follows the same moral guidelines. That has nothing to do with superiority or inferiority. It's just different.

It's just different.
sham mass-trials with no legal representation or evidence and executions are not effective and only fuel the growing discontent in Egypt. Not to mention the regime has started doing the same to the secular pro-democracy groups too.

Trying 500+ people at the same time (only 100 of which could fit into the courtroom) is not ever likely to produce a fair trial.
Yep death, can't deal with people as if they are people, definitely death

If my family member got hung for hanging about as somebody took the assault too far, I would seriously consider joining the resistance against the government in one way or another.

This is no different than the massacre at Katyn, it simply had a "trial" in front of it instead.
Everyone criticizes from the outside. No one actually acts on it. Its an endless cycle on the internet and in real life.
