It seems like more and more I hear about these "controversies" involving hurt feelings or some weird sense of "I don't like this, so no one should like this" and it's depressing. Not only because people are wasting time on bullshit that doesn't matter, but because there are real and pressing issues that should be getting discussed but aren't because we're wasting our time and energy on talking about dresses that are oddly colored and shirts that are slightly distasteful.

Apparently you can still get hung in Washington and New Hampshire as a form of capital punishment. And the most recent hanging as a form of capital punishment was in 1996. Didn't know it was still used.

I am struggling to figure how can this offend anybody in particular I thought it might be a play on the word "loose"? as in morally/sexually loose people? loose... loser? goose? the fact it might be [I]racist[/I] just didn't cross my mind whatsoever I am willing to bet somebody got hanged in the USA before the first black slaves arrived to the continent at all. Hell, I don't know how these interactions went, but I wouldn't be surprised if whites haven't been hanging each other for quite a while before they have encountered Africans at all.
