Bamse is an old, swedish cartoon created by Rune Andréasson.

With this thread I mainly wanted to reach swedes and scandinavians that grew up with this cartoon.
The first short film came 1966 and by 1973, the series got it's own comic magazine. Before Rune came up with the idea of Bamse, he had tried his success with many other characters and series, such as "Brum" and "Teddy".
Main Characters
Bamse himself:

Bamse is the very main character. He is a brown, strong bear, but he is also the nicest and friendliest bear in the world and does not like to fight. When he drinks 'farmors' 'dunderhonung' he becomes the strongest bear in the world. Almost anyone who drinks the 'dunderhonung', except Bamse and a few others, ends up with 3 days of stomachache. The name "Bamse" comes from the swedish word björn wich means bear.
Lille Skutt

Lille Skutt is one of Bamses close friends. Lille Skutt is a white little rabbit who can run, or rather hop very fast but is also a very careful and easy frightened one.
Skalman

Skalman is another friend of Bamse. Skalman is a clever and intelligent turtle (with an awesome yellow hat) who invents all kinds of random stuff. He even says something like; "I invent first, then I see what I can use it for". Skalmans best invention, according to himself, is his 'Mat och sov klocka' that tells him when to eat and when to sleep. Skalman is a heavy sleeper.
Vargen

'Vargen' is the very main villain-character. He is a black, clever and likes to do mean things to Bamse and his friends. Vargen is not such a bad person really, but was dragged into the life of crime by his stepfathers.
Here is a little list of swedish words and names, and basically what they mean
Dunderhonung - Thunderhoney
Farmor - Grandmother (father side)
Lille Skutt - Little Hop
Vargen - The Wolf
Memories!

Sorry guys, that's why I wrote swedish.
The Bamse you're speaking of wasn't even swedish only, it was scandinavian all around. :argh:
Yes but it was originally swedish, also "With this thread I mainly wanted to reach swedes and scandinavians that grew up with this cartoon.". Didn't mean to offend anyone :)

I guess that would explain why he had his bitch constantly baking buns for him.
Anyone remember "Bamse och den lilla åsnan"? I love it!
So long ago, but I think I do.
Wasn't there some Bamse movie where they ran around in a castle? I don't remember what it was about though, it feels like it was 100 years ago...
I'm pretty sure that was "Bamse och den Lilla Åsnan" when they were in this castle with a flying carpet... Think it was something like that. I'm not sure, I mix them all up. Bamse and Lilleskutt was in an indian castle on a flying carpet I belive!
