Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Fox is looking to bring 24 back for a 13-episode run
It was great while it lasted, but I think that any attempt at revival would end in catastrophe. Let the series rest in peace.
Ever since 24 was cancelled America has had to deal with critically low levels of violent fantasies produced specifically for patriotic middle aged men.
I loved the show, but it was incredible how my dad and all of his friends were so unbelievably glued to it.
Do we really need to run yet another show into the ground?
.. Oh right, FOX network.
Not sure how I feel about this. I'm always up for more Kiefer Sutherland being a badass, but I thought the series ended pretty well. That said, I was getting really tired of how ridiculously shit Jack Bauer's life became in the last few seasons because it just seemed forced. Unluckiest man in the world.
You can't bring 24 back for 13 episodes. It is called 24, not 13!

maybe they are killing off everyone important at the end.
There's actually 24 episodes, but at the end of the 13th episode a nuclear holocaust occurs, and the remaining episodes are just a bunch of static that lasts for 1 hour.
The next season should involve Jack systematically wiping out the entire US government for screwing him over in the last few seasons. The only character that will live will be Chloe. Every scene involving Chloe will just be her doing her infamous frown at the camera and nothing else.
What... why? The series ended really well (at least in my opinion)

I wouldn't mind this tbh
The lack of communication in the first few seasons (maybe all of them?) just got so annoying for me. Like if they just picked up a cellphone more often and talked to each other, things would have been so much better.

Maybe someone this season will see her frowny face as a cry for help and finally provide that poor girl with some laxatives.
I'll watch the show for the split-screen montages. I missed that shit. :v:
I hope they bring back Elisha Cuthbert, she added so much to the series that her presence was sorely missed!
:suicide:
I'd have understood slightly better if they brought it back with 12 episodes. Maybe each episode features 2 hours of the time in 24's world. But 13? How the heck are they dividing 24 into 13? 24 divided by 13 is 1.846153... That's terrible math, FOX.
I actually just finished watching the first 3 (ie; the best and only good) seasons again, and I was feeling pretty down that there was no more Jack Bauer Pauer Hauer each week to look forward to (as much as seasons 4 and on sucked ass). And then suddenly this news? But yes, 13 episodes is a strange choice... It might just be a special short run - they were looking to do a movie but perhaps commitments wouldn't work for a multi-year production, so a shorter run TV show was a viable alternative. It sounds weird but I can understand why they would, a 24 movie makes even less sense than a 13 episode run when you think about it. Thing is, FOX knows that 24, no matter what form it comes in, is a guaranteed ratings blockbuster so it's one of the rare shows they'd even consider doing this with.
Just hope Chloe buggers off and dies very very quickly, she ruined the show bigtime... terrible actor, terrible dialogue, awful on-screen prescence. The show lost a lot of its 'reality' feel when she entered the picture.
I am guessing this is leading up to the 24 movie they talked about, considering Sutherland announced a month ago he is willing to do one. This would explain the 13 episodes only.

Unless the 13th episode is set after the day, as a sort of retrospective.

You shut your whore mouth.
Chloe was fucking great.
Jack and Chloe BFFs.
The first three seasons sucked pretty big dicks, 4 and 5 were great though.

I honestly, truthfully cannot tell if you're just trying to take the piss or something... Oh well.
My opinion still stands, and I do hope the show comes back for another run in some form, sans bad actors.
this show is boring as fuck, wtf
24 is so hard to watch but sooo awesome
literally every episode is like watching an entire movie full of action and crazy and explosions and shit in one sit. Imagine watching 8 episodes in a row. That shit is hard.
never got on the bandwagon tbh, tried multiple times just didn't find it as engaging as everyone else did.

I watched a full season in a day once. Slept like the dead after that one.

That would deffo be terrible for you and probably fuck you up. Including Redemption, it would take about 5.5-6 days to watch all of 24 in one sitting.

No, the first three seasons had horrible plot lines and far too much drama and damsels in distress.
I will give them props for Nina though, she was a fun villain.
And Chloe is just a hilarious character that gives almost as many fucks as Jack.
Just going to have to agree to disagree on that one mate.
Looks like it's all going ahead, and it'll be called '24 : Live Another Day'. 12 episodes covering 24 hours.
Awesome.
