Rep. Dana Rohrabacher had an odd warning last week for the Heartland Institute. The conservative think tank was hosting a conference challenging the notion of “whether man-made global warming is a problem worth addressing.” Rohrabacher, a prominent climate change skeptic who once suggested that “dinosaur flatulence” might have been responsible for past fluctuations in global temperatures, was delivering a speech entitled, “Global Warming as a Power Grab.”
Riffing on the notion of scientific consensus, the California Republican remarked that he did not “know whether fluoridating the water helps people’s teeth become better or not. But I do know that in this country, we should be the ones who should be deciding what we put into our bodies one way or the other. Not the federal government or the local government putting fluoride into our water!”
And even more interesting:
In an interview with a California talk radio station in September, the Congressman related how he met Putin when he visited Washington with a group of young Russian political leaders. Rorhrabacher, joined by future Dick Cheney aide Scooter Libby and “a bunch of my right wing friends,” challenged the Russians to a game of touch football.
After the scrimmage, the group headed to an Irish pub. Following a few drinks (the threat of Russians contaminating our “precious bodily fluids” no longer a worry), conversation turned to the question of “who won the Cold War.” To settle the matter, Putin and Rohrabacher engaged in an arm-wrestling match, which the future Russian president won handily.
He and Putin are just good ol' pals. Who hate gay people. Weird.

Oh, and I almost forgot, source
i bet him and alex jones are great friends

Oh, fine, news article. Go ahead, make the joke I wanted to make. It's not like Facepunch has me around me for a reason or anything. Fuck off.

He's not that crazy, just the usual any-government-is-bad-government crazy.
Fluoride owns fuck this guy
I don't care about that putin-loving idiot, but I agree with him about something.
Fluoride is fucking poison yet most people do not realize this shit especially americunts who have 10x higher rates in their water.. no wonder they are so unhealthy and stupid.

That meta-study refers to a study done in China where the fluoride concentrations in some areas are thousands of times above safe level, which no shit would cause bad things. The others also referred to excessive concentrations, and quite a few of them, by the author's determination, had severe deficiencies. Using that as an argument against fluoridated tap water is like basically saying ban water because people drown in it.

100% safe level is 1,5mg per liter. Purposefully fluoridized water sources are tuned to 0,5mg per liter. You are full of shit.

How are we going to realize anything if we're being brainwashed by the fluoride in our water?
Wake up sheeple.

More like banning salted foods because if you take a 20kg solid slab of salt and bash someone's head in, they gonna die from it.
(Sorry for being rude before, but your governments are nice and see, they don't give shit about you)

My last thought: We have fluoridated toothpastes, why the heck we need it in water anyway?
And some more 'random' searching.. fluoride levels in water systems:
State of Missisipi:
2.4mg/L (it says alternate sources needed for children younger than 8):
http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/MWF/PWSDetailV.asp?PWSID=0150005&State=MS&StartPg=861&EndPg=880&County=&PWSName=&Filter=0&PWS_ID=&State_ID=MS&SortBy=1&StateName=Mississippi
1.1mg/L

You can search levels of your water supply here, if you are lucky, you won't have any (0mg/L):

You posted links to natural news, infowars and a website called "fluoride detective", you aren't convincing anybody.
that he did not “know whether fluoridating the water helps people’s teeth become better or not. But I do know that in this country, we should be the ones who should be deciding what we put into our bodies one way or the other.
first off, yes we do know whether fluoridation helps people, it does, plus as a side bonus it helps the pipes, just look at austrailia where they stopped it, massive spikes in cavaties
second off, no we really don't have total freedom over what we put in our bodies, the law is quite clear on this, there are substances that are controlled and out right illegal, as well as drugs being regulated by prescription and agencies to regulate what goes into our bodies to prevent untold damage from bad drugs and what not.
third, this guy is fucking stupid

"A foreign substance is introduced into our precious bodily fluids without the knowledge of the individual, and certainly without any choice. That's the way your hard-core Commie works.
I can no longer sit back and allow Communist infiltration, Communist indoctrination, Communist subversion, and the international Communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids."
For any of you not knowing the movie, he called the fluroidation of water a communist cospiracy and started World War 3
Polonium is a far safer water additive that protects against tooth decay, he should use that instead.
Polonium, that's a commie metal, he needs to use americium

Citing a Yahoo answer, Natural News, Infowars, Fluoride Detective, Fluoridation.
Are you trying to discredit yourself?
(Sorry for being rude before, but your governments are nice and see, they don't give shit about you)
man, if drinking fluoride lets me realize how fucking crazy you are, then i'd rather drink it than not
The main problem I have with conspiracy theories in general is that they portray the government as comic book villains.
For instance the chemtrails conspiracy doesn't make sense even if it's true because if the goal is human population control it's going affect the people involved as well.
But I guess that's when reptilians who live underground that aren't affected or something come into play...

lol
wat
Pfft, Fluoride is nothing, you should better watch out for Dihydrogen monoxide
So wait, I thnk we're missing the real point:
conversation turned to the question of “who won the Cold War.” To settle the matter, Putin and Rohrabacher engaged in an arm-wrestling match, which the future Russian president won handily
Putin single-handedly (literally) won Russia the Cold War?
No wonder he has such high approval ratings.
You think Flouride is bad? Well it doesn't have shit on contrails! That's right, the government is spraying patterns all over the sky to turn us all into gays. It's a good thing I bought Alex Jones' gas mask and water filter.

I don't like quoting myself but that exact 'article' was posted 1.5 years ago and I don't feel like typing another response:
Huffington Post is so biased, it is not even funny anymore. What kind of an "infographic" is that if this is supposed to be a serious and impartial news outlet?
I've read the article in question, and I highly doubt anyone with any proper scientific education did the same over at Huffington.
Here is the link: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3491930/
And now a few direct quotes from the paper:
"A recent experimental study where the rat hippocampal neurons were incubated with various concentrations (20 mg/L, 40 mg/L, and 80 mg/L) of sodium fluoride in vitro showed that fluoride neurotoxicity may target hippocampal neurons "
"Opportunities for epidemiological studies depend on the existence of comparable population groups exposed to different levels of fluoride from drinking water. Such circumstances are difficult to find in many industrialized countries, because fluoride concentrations in community water are usually no higher than 1 mg/L, even when fluoride is added to water supplies as a public health measure to reduce tooth decay. Multiple epidemiological studies of developmental fluoride neurotoxicity were conducted in China because of the high fluoride concentrations that are substantially above 1 mg/L in well water in many rural communities"
"Although acute fluoride poisoning may be neurotoxic to adults, most of the epidemiological information available on associations with children’s neurodevelopment is from China, where fluoride generally occurs in drinking water as a natural contaminant, and the concentration depends on local geological conditions."
The most striking one, in my opinion:
"To summarize the available literature, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of published studies on increased fluoride exposure in drinking water associated with neurodevelopmental delays. We specifically targeted studies carried out in rural China that have not been widely disseminated, thus complementing the studies that have been included in previous reviews and risk assessment reports."
The paper basically looks at the neurodevelopmental delays that might be associated with high levels of fluoride exposure, with a specific focus on China where there are regions of significant fluoride levels in the water. This was not directed at water fluoridation campaigns, the whole article is mangled and sensationalised beyond belief. In a normal household fluoride poisoning from eating too much toothpaste is a more likely occurrence for fluoride poisoning (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1752-7325.1997.tb02966.x/abstract;jsessionid=4D72E912DC620359CF530D0424D77AF5.d01t02).
Water is bad if you have too high a concentration in your body aswell.
Wake up sheeple.
Dihydrogen monoxide is much more dangerous!
It's odourless and colourless, contributes to soil erosion and is a major component of acid rain.
They should ban this before banning fluoride in water.

Also, an estimated 360,000 people die each year from inhaling dihydrogen monoxide! We need to ban this substance ASAP just think of how many lives we could save.

you guys are forgetting the most dangerous hazard to living in america though, polyester fabrics can generate shocks upwards of a million volts! these are seriously deadly shocks!

According to the CDC:
For 65 years, community water fluoridation has been a safe and healthy way to effectively prevent tooth decay. CDC has recognized water fluoridation as one of 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century.
http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/
http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation/safety/index.htm
It also says that it is healthy for humans to have .5mg of fluoride to 1.2mg, and up to 2mg for children under 8. WHO also agrees with this.
I think those agencies are more reliable than your random sources
