I feel like these games don't give a shit about the lore but at least they're fun as fuck.(the first one at least, I assume this will be more of the same)
I've never played any of the "Middle Earth" series. This trailer has peaked my interests.
Fuck yeah! The first games was fucking amazing. [editline]27th February 2017[/editline]
I feel like these games don't give a shit about the lore but at least they're fun as fuck.(the first one at least, I assume this will be more of the same)
There isn’t THAT much lore to LOTR which is exciting without rehashing the same game over and over and over and over. It’s a good thing they do their own thing.
oh fuck yes. i wonder if this was rushed out now due to the Target leak. Also: Available August 22, 2017 on Xbox One, Project Scorpio, Windows 10 PC (Windows Store and Steam), PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®4 Pro. (Scorpio is out before august or the game will work on release ps4 pro style)
Who is that narrator voice? She sounded awesome and slightly familiar.

Shadow Of Mordor Spoilers! [sp]I thought the interactions with Gollum had their own charm and the pre-Frodo Gollum characterisation was on point. The story of Celembrimbor being a wraith and keeping Talion alive was a touch odd but I'm okay with handwaving it as the premise of the game.[/sp] More importantly I loved the first game, it blew all of my expectations out of the water. Personally for me I feel that any game that makes you feel bad-ass and powerful while also constantly keeping you on your toes is one that gets a load of playtime over time. The warlord system was amazing because it varied up the playstyle and you had to take full advantage of all the game mechanics to take them down. It stopped you from just powerhousing warlords down with your main abilities. You could be having an easy time of a fight and some new powerful orc could give you a beat down if you didn't adapt quickly enough. It had a fun if not perfect balance of stealth, abilities, ranged or up close, perk-based progression. I personally felt it left itself open to the player deciding what main "train" of abilities to use throughout the game without letting you get too far ahead of the opposition. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. This is a game that didn't fuck up Lord of the Rings, it's very enjoyable and (I haven't checked) the price should be pretty reasonable nowadays. In all, it was a good game, the characters were fun and pretty memorable, it brought some interesting lore and the gameplay was solid to a T. Providing the trailers and reviews don't show it to be a major let down I'll be buying this one for sure.
I wonder if this is the thing that WB were teasing with that picture of "save the date, 8 mars"

I didn't understand what the fuck was going on but I want the game. Loved the first one.
Oh shit, this is awesome. Reminds me I still need to finish Shadow of Mordor's DLC. I hope it has uruk customization. Imagine being able to outfit your warchief and his bodyguards in the armor you want before sending them off to kill their rivals.
never played SoM but it did look good, this one looks pretty cool too.
never played SoM but it did look good, this one looks pretty cool too.
Honestly I recommend it heavily even just playing the first area and experimenting with the nemesis system to see what happens. Addicting as hell.
Hype.

I would have no qualms whatsoever if this was a new timeline. A New Ring to rule them all, a New Ring to find them, a New Ring to bring them all, and through the brightness... BIND THEM. ...still, we should wait to see how much has really changed, when we see gameplay footage.
Are we goind to dominate a balrog?

The prequel DLC is one big "Godzilla Threshold", it keeps getting bigger and bigger with each progression until you get to the main event which in itself is fucking fun to play. It makes up for the shitty final "fight" in the main game. Shadow of War looks to be like the prequel DLC cranked up to 11. Nazgul, a Balrog, and goddamn Sauron at full-power(hope they explain why he's free)! Include the Nemesis System and you got a GOTY contender. My only gripe is that it feels like development feels a bit short. The first game came out in 2014, and for a up-scaled sequel like this coming in August of this year it feels hastened. I pray that it doesn't happen, but at least one launch date move is expected.
yeah i mean a black guy in there? what the hell
/v/ is loving this.
I know it probably won't, but god I hope this has co-op. These Batman/AssCreed type action games look so perfect for co-op. Slaughtering massive amounts of orks and uruk hai the same way Aragorn and his homies Gimli and Legolas did would be just dandy.
This completely fucks up the lore but I want it anyway
All the LOTR nerds are gonna throw a hissy fit because they think the lore gets fucked i’m gonna sit here and enjoy this game
yeah i mean a black guy in there? what the hell
Honestly, that thought actually occurred to me but I didn't want to mention it in the first reply in case it derailed the thread.

He'll be in it anyway if there's no co-op. Ranger and sword/shield combo OP.

Is that one nazgul riding the fell beast near the end supposed to be the witch king of angmar?
Is that one nazgul riding the fell beast near the end supposed to be the witch king of angmar?
Yes
Yes
Instant buy.
cool to see sauron in his physical form at barad dur. something the movies didn't show nearly enough of.
Are we goind to dominate a balrog?
I doubt it. balrogs serve morgoth and evil in general. I doubt the ring could dominate creatures so strong that they were almost on par with sauron in morgoth's army.
