hi there, it's me srm again. i have been recently been reading the book "tricky buisness" by dave barry. its a great book so far, incredibly funny, and i think it'd make a great movie if in the right hands. which got me to thinking. what other books could be turned into halfway decent movies? thats where you guys come in. can you guys think of any other books that would be good movies? i'm interested in your responses

I wouldn't mind "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" being made into a film.

I think Fitzpatrick's War would make a pretty good psuedo-steam punk movie.
I think Jurassic Park should be remade, except it should be more truthful to the book this time. Although I don't think it would have the same charm if it were made now.
The Maxx (its a comic book, but it still counts)
Rainbow Six
Chasm City would be pretty interesting

Just watch the animated series man. If it was made into a film it would probably be worse then Aeon Flux.
Skullduggery Pleasant.
The Dark Tower. It's coming along slowly, I just hope they don't ruin it or do any extreme edits.
Also, the Leviathan series (Leviathan, Behemoth, Goliath). With modern CGI and whatnot, the alternate history/steam punk fantasy could look brilliant on screen.
Well, Javier Bardem is signed on to be Roland, so they at least can do about 1/5 of the first book already.
Vertical Run by Joseph R. Garber
Devil in the White City by Erik Larson
The World War series. Alternative history with aliens invading during WWII. Interesting stuff.

Aeon Flux was pretty bad, but I think The Maxx could be an excellent live action if done correctly.
I think a good science fiction film would be one based off of the Mote in god's eye.
House of Leaves
John Dies at the End
Metro 2033
World War Z
Guns of the South
Red storm Rising
some of which are slowly being, made, but still.
Those Harry Potter books could be some interesting films.

They'll probably coping on video game more than the book.
The Metro 2033 movie has been in talks for years
The West Pier could make a pretty good film.
The Warhammer 40k Ciaphas Cain novels.
A series of movies based on an Imperial Guard Commissar. What could go wrong?

I thought it over and probably casting. Casting could go horribly wrong. And the removal of lesbians.
[editline]11th July 2011[/editline]
And possibly a studio fucking it over and introducing stupid shit.

Ok a ton of stuff could go wrong. But gameworkshop is competent right?

That has been made, it's in post production now.
They Cage the Animals at Night
Captain Underpants. Not live action but animated.
