Sources indicate the two are expected to meet with Marvel execs and Wright one more time before a decision is made and that there's also a possibility of one more actor being added into the mix.
Pretty interesting choices. After staring in the single Ant-Man movie, they would then be moving on to take part in Avengers 3, and seeing either of these guys in the Avengers would be pretty funny. Guess we'll be finding out pretty soon.
It's Paul Rudd.
I would definitely be happy with JGL playing him, not sure about Rudd.
I thought they already started filming
I thought they already started filming
even if they did, they don't usually film in the order that the movie is put together
location and actor grouping dictates

Not a hard mistake to make considering an ant-man film has been trying to get off the ground since the fucking 1980's, with Edgar Wright announced as director for this latest attempt way back in 2006. I keep waiting for this one to vanish again.
Cast JGL as Scott Lang and Paul Rudd as Hank Pym.
they must be doing scenes that require stuntmen first or something

Paul Rudd is a weird choice but I haven't seen much of him besides comedies. Maybe he'll do well.
JGL is a good choice though

Holy shit is that Boba Fett in skin tight pants?!
This movie is going to rock.
Just an FYI, that photo is from filming the old "test screening"
I'd like to see Paul Rudd in a serious film, but I don't think a super hero movie would be the best way to start. I'm all for Joseph on this one.
I'm sorry, I just can't see JGL as Ant-man.

Everyone says that about every superhero.

pretty sure that's a behind the scenes picture from the concept teaser video they played at comiccon.
I really hope Paul Rudd get's the part, He is so underrated.

He was in 2 Days, which was serious (also incredibly sad) and pretty good.
I can't really imagine JGL in the role of someone who [sp]beats his wife.[/sp] Then again, I can't say that about most people.
I don't know if that's really a spoiler but I figure some people might not know it.
Should be an interesting movie, can't wait to see it.

Paul Rudd seems like he could probably generally pull off beat up, depressed scientist with anger issues. I remember watching Two Days and he was totally perfect for that role. JGL's pretty flexible but Paul Rudd would probably do it better, at least if it's going by Ultimate Marvel's version.
Out of all the possible heroes... Ant-Man?

considering ant-man was originally one of the founders of the avengers in the comics. yes.

could be test footage too, just so they get an idea for the CGI guys to work with
after seeing Gordon Levit in Looper and Inception i want to see more of his serious side and less of his funny side, just my take on things. he's a great actor but he hasn't really had much of a chance to show it besides looper which put off many people because of the complicated plot and lets face it, scifi draws less of a crowd than action or superhero

i mean they do run tests before the actual shooting begins to try to get a better picture of what the movie is going to look like camera wise so they don't have to waste so much time on set with actors trying to get the lighting just right or the right feel

it should be celery-man IMO
Annnd it's Paul Rudd

Just the thought of him interacting with the other avengers is cool

for the love of christ pym did that once in the midst of a mental breakdown
it wasn't even supposed to be on-purpose, the intent was to have him not be aware of his surroundings and swing around, accidentally smacking her. the artist just drew it as a violent backhand because comic artists were used to making things look dynamic in those days
ant-man's only an actual asshole/violent, intentional wifebeater in an alternate universe and that's about to end anyway
Being a bit bored of comic book movies I'm actually looking forward to this, because of Edgar Wright.
