• "Chinese Democracy" Is Criminally Under-Rated

I'm sure all of you have heard at least one song by Guns N' Roses. If not, you are very unlucky. Guns N' Roses used to contain a classic line-up: Axl Rose as the singer, Slash on lead guitar, Duff McKagen on bass, Izzy Stradlin on rythym guitar and Steven Adler as the drummer. Adler was kicked out due to drug use and replaced by Matt Sorum, who was still great. After the "Use Your Illusion" tour there was a dispute (which I won't go into detail on) and, long story short, everyone left except for Axl. Fast forward 12 years. Axl Rose and a bunch of other people produce the long-awaited "Chinese Democracy", which was Axl's way of "trying something new". It had a long time being created and in my opinion it isn't appreciated enough. I understand that not everyone likes Guns N' Roses, but some fans won't even listen just because Slash isn't in it. I want to explain to you why you should listen to this album. It was being worked on for over a decade, and has some quality songs on it. Some complain that it isn't rock, but I think that most of the tracks on it are. Here's a list of all the tracks: -Chinese Democracy - Better - Madagascar - Catcher in the Rye - Street of Dreams - Sorry - Prostitute - There Was A Time - If The World - This I Love - Shackler's Revenge - Scraped - Riad N' The Bedouins - IRS (I think I may have missed one or two, but that isn't the point) Although this album is nowhere near as good as their older stuff, it still is great. My favourite track on it is "Catchter in the Rye", it's based on the book by J.D Salinger and the outro has a great tribute to John Lennon. Then there are songs like "Scraped", "Shackler's Revenge" and "Sorry", which I love listening to when playing Team Fortress 2 as they help to get me pumped. I'm sure some of you must've heard something from this album, but none of my friends recognize it whatsoever. I'm not, in any way, saying that Guns N' Roses are the best band in the world (though, in my opinion, they are), I'm just saying that I'm sure people would like the album if they just listened to it (unless it's not their style, of course).I'm sure all of you have heard at least one song by Guns N' Roses. If not, you are very unlucky.
You posted the thing twice.
Guns n roses are and never were worth listening to.
Guns n roses are overrated.
over or under, regardless what it is... I don't give a shit about ratings. But I do like the album that is mentioned.
You posted the thing twice.
Woops. Thanks for informing me, I've fixed it now. [editline]30th July 2011[/editline]
Guns n roses are and never were worth listening to.

Guns n roses are overrated.
What are your reasons for this?
in fact i'll see if i can dig it out and give it a listen. :) [editline]30th July 2011[/editline]
What are your reasons for this?
they don't like Guns N' Roses?
I bought the album at Best Buy on vinyl. It was 3 dollars. It wasn't on sale either. huh. Quality album
The Best Buy near my house doesn't even have any Vinyl. They don't even have a damn record player.
I bought the album at Best Buy on vinyl. It was 3 dollars. It wasn't on sale either. huh. Quality album
It's always 20 where I live, I would grab it for 3 bucks regardless if it's that good anyways. [editline]30th July 2011[/editline] The Bestbuy here has literally 6 different albums, never changes. Probably because, well, I doubt many people go to Best Buy to grab some vinyl :v:
it's a very good album imo... very enjoyable. [editline]30th July 2011[/editline] haha just heard Gene Hackman in Madagascar. can't remember the movie though.. either French Connection or Mississippi Burning. Awesome.
i quite dislike guns n roses in general
Indeed, Axl Rose is a cunt and has the most annoying, whiney voice ever.
Personally i'm not really a fan at all of it. Chinese Democracy and Better are the only two songs worth listening to from it, imo
Indeed, Axl Rose is a cunt and has the most annoying, whiney voice ever.
I think he has a sweet voice, but he is a cunt.
Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal is cool, but I don't like the rest of the band to be honest...
i like how guns n roses seem to be either hated or loved [editline]30th July 2011[/editline] personally think Guns N roses are pretty much summed up with all filler no killer with very few exceptions
whining about their fame and how people like them? who cares, they made nice music. most fans are cunts though.
people need to tighten their bolts these days.. jeez.
People judge it too harshly as a Guns n' Roses album, when in all fairness, it isn't a "proper" GnR album. However, it's still a pretty enjoyable listen, in my opinion. Shackler's Revenge and Better are my favourite tracks.
It's only under rated because it took so long and was so hyped up. If they released that normally people would've probably thought it was pretty good.
whining about their fame and how people like them? who cares, they made nice music. most fans are cunts though.
Dude, so many fans or 80's 90's hair/rock/glam and stuff like that are cunts.
it's not that bad i dunno it's not really a big deal
I started to not really like GNR after Axle started to be a massive prick. and slash left.
so before they had even released an album rofl
That's right OP, all the MILLIONS AND MILLIONS people that hate the shitty album are wrong and YOU are correct! After all, we can't all be right? Newsflash, if Slash was the only reason people liked Gun 'n' Roses, what makes you think that anyone would like them now?
if it was a solo album noone would hate.
Well I didn't hate The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking the point is that that was actually good unlike Chinese Cheapplasticshit
if it was a solo album noone would hate.
Agreed. It's not a bad album, but if you attach the Guns 'n' Roses name, it just doesn't live up to what it should, as a GnR LP.
Well I didn't hate The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking
yeah but did you hate Final Cut? [editline]31st July 2011[/editline]
Agreed. It's not a bad album, but if you attach the Guns 'n' Roses name, it just doesn't live up to what it should, as a GnR LP.
i doubt everyone here liked EVERY GnR LP anyway. [editline]31st July 2011[/editline] let me rephrase that... "has even listened to every GnR LP."
