Honestly, this should be the standard. It teaches people to man up to what they have done, and doesn't leave them with a nasty record of sitting in a prison cell.

This should be the standard for first time offenders, as I'm assuming most of these people are, who commit petty crimes. However, I feel like that last lady got off way too easily. I feel like a whole week of 8 hour days at the dump would be more effective than one, alongside a fine if she wasn't issued one.

Even being in jail for a few months can be quite disruptive and damaging. Yeah I mostly agree this is much better than the usual punishments, but there's that one little thing nagging for me. Soliciting a prostitute. I mean yeah it's in the law, it's illegal, nothing the judge can do about that I guess, but it's still fucking stupid.
