Forget about violence and human trafficking of women and girls that still exists, this is the biggest issue feminists fight for today:

I'm pretty sure feminists don't do anything about human trafficking. They just don't use tampons and believe everything with the word "man" in it is sexist.
both of you need to stop generalizing feminists.
"i'm not bossy, i'm the boss"
Like how fucking retarded are you beyonce.
So what's even the plan of this? To pull some big brother shit and remove a word from people's mind?
"God, Miranda, you're being really bossy today."
"SHUT UP YOU SEXIST PIG!"
I bet these bitches haven't heard of the thing called the 1st Amendment.
So what's even the plan of this? To pull some big brother shit and remove a word from people's mind?
the principle is that men who take charge are the boss, while women who take charge are more frequently known as bossy.

it's a name / slogan they're not literally trying to outlaw a word lol
it's a name / slogan they're not literally trying to outlaw a word lol
Then why call it that? If you're really independent and strong-willed, you won't care what people say or label you as. That's a fact.
Then why call it that? If you're really independent and strong-willed, you won't care what people say or label you as. That's a fact.
enjoy your dumb label then
Then why call it that? If you're really independent and strong-willed, you won't care what people say or label you as. That's a fact.
no, it doesn't work that way. being called bossy is negative, leading people to not listen and letting people call women a negative term like that invites little by little, more negative terms against women to be acceptable.
why are you so set on wanting to call women in charge bossy instead of the boss?
the principle is that men who take charge are the boss, while women who take charge are more frequently known as bossy.
I think a better objective would be to try to have younger women accept the word bossy and say that's it a good thing, rather then try to "erase" it.
enjoy your dumb label then
I don't even know how to respond to such a shit post.

When did bossy become a term used exclusively for women?
I think a better objective would be to try to have younger women accept the word bossy and say that's it a good thing, rather then try to "erase" it.
or just get people to refer to people in charge as the boss instead of bossy? I mean shit it's not fucking hard to do that.
some people do adopt negative terms against women as a positive point, but imo that's not enough. not everyone is going to think that way and you shouldn't force them to be.
When did bossy become a term used exclusively for women?
I didn't, I'm saying it's more common for a women in charge to be called bossy over a man in charge. just like a promiscuous women is more likely to be called a slut than a promiscuous man etc.
Then why call it that? If you're really independent and strong-willed, you won't care what people say or label you as. That's a fact.
This campaign is meant for young girls. A lot of girls are not allowed by a mob of kids to lead because they sound bossy. A lot like the campaign for ban the word faggot from kids' vocabulary.
It's not some brainwashing movement to hide these words.
It's not about one gender being put down in leadership positions in school.
It's about giving them turns to lead.
When did bossy become a term used exclusively for women?
it didn't, but it's frequently used against women in power doing the same thing men do without anyone batting an eye (namely, holding any position of power whatsoever)
it's kind of like how you can call anyone a bitch / cunt but it has the sharpest implications when the subject is a woman
Some of you need to take a step back and listen to yourselves. This whole thing is not about being called "bossy" (okay yeah they're using the word, but it's more than that) it's about the fact that when women are put into a leadership position, if they try and assert that role or take any sort of initiative, they are seen as masculine or aggressive by their peers or employees. Women for the longest time have been affected by something called "the glass ceiling", where they are scrutinized so much in a position of leadership compared to their male counterparts, that they are often passed over for higher positions. The whole point of this video is to show that women want a more level playing field, and should be able to assert a leadership position without being considered sexually intimidating.
I bet these bitches haven't heard of the thing called the 1st Amendment.
I'm actually kind of disappointed in myself for not noticing the irony of you calling them "bitches" in this post. It's literally the exact same principle. "Woman has an opinion and expresses that opinion? She's a bitch." When you say that you're intentionally calling forth the social stigma of a woman stepping out of her "place" and using that to discredit them.
The execution of this is pretty bad. I have a feeling if this idea were better expressed then the movement would get a lot more positive attention.
Except, I don't know anyone around me who puts it in this context of only women. If its only used against women, then yeah that's bullshit.
But its a widespread word that can change connotations among different regions.

I can see the reasoning behind it, just seems to be an ineffective method. They're playing in pundit and MRA fucktard's hands when they do this kind of shit.
It's only an ineffective method if you take it literally which is absurd, the point of the campaign isn't even to hone in on the singular word, it's specifically aimed at schools to revamp attitudes students have towards women striving to take leadership roles. The commercial admittedly did not convey this well.

That's true.
I'm all for girls being encouraged to be more ambitious and stuff, but since when is being bossy a good trait to have? People that are bossy are controlling and annoying.
omg Beyoncé slay slaaaaaay

I think you're missing the point, no one called "bossy" a good thing. Quite the opposite, they said it's an insult that's thrown around whenever a woman tries to take charge. Essentially, women are perceived as "controlling and annoying" just for exhibiting leadership.
So this is supported by Girl Scouts. Is it just me or is this organization sexist? It doesn't let in boys and it basically reinforces gender roles by mainly focusing on home-economics stuff.
