Still progress! Only took them 10 years.
Anyway, the devs have made the starting experience and getting into the game a lot easier. There are less bugs and a lot of inconveniences were removed. Graphics are ok but the game itself is not well optimized. It can be fun and has some great moments if you can look beyond what it is. As the trailer says it is truly the most unique and sandbox MMO out there. I've been playing since 2010 with over 200+ days played ingame. While the game still has some problems it has improved a lot over the past few years so if you played before but couldnt get into it i recommend trying again and if you want to start playing, there will be some sort of a landrush event tomorrow with the release of the new server(which is the biggest non instanced server for an MMO apparently).

It was an invasion I think we did right after flattening the ground and deepening the mine in our village, and we had nothing better to do with the excess dirt and sand

wasn't the initial idea of this game to see if a game like wurm could be made in java but at no point did they consider how awful it would be (and is) to use java for wurm

The FP invasion on Golden Valley was some of the funnest and hilarious co-ordinated gameplay i've had with other people on an MMO. Our town was literally a model medieval facepunch community recreated.

Wurm online might look really outdated sometimes but it really shines at night with the lighting system. I remember standing on the hill and looking down at the sprawling FP mountaintop town and watching all the cookfires and forges light up the town and it's little alleyways while me and some other dude made dinner in a ruined shack overlooking the town. So good.
I actaully checked out it right now but apparently most of the good gameplay elements, from what I can see, are locked behind a premium wall. I might have played it just a little bit for fun but the premium stuff really ruins any desire I had to play the game.

But you can actually create deeds now without premium (on the new server)
