A Southwest Airlines flight attendant reportedly took away a baby from its parents mid-flight after witnessing the mother slap the crying child.
The plane was enroute to Albuquerque from Dallas on Monday when the incident occurred.
The flight attendant did return the 1-year-old to its parents just before the plane landed. But they were greeted by police when the plane arrived around 4:30 p.m. at the Albuquerque International Sunport.
“I think it was a solid move [on] the part of the flight attendant to take custody of the child,” Albuquerque International Sunport police chief Marshall Katz told KRQE News. “It neutralized the situation. It calmed everybody down.”
Police questioned the couple, the flight attendant and other witnesses, but the parents were not cited for the incident.
“We felt it was an isolated incident,” Katz told the station.
Seems the complete opposite of the beer-grabbing attendant.
who the hell slaps a crying baby...
If you're gonna hit your kids, do it at home. What good could come out of slapping a crying baby anyway?
Southwest Airlines has a history of being awesome, doesn't surprise me.

Moronic parents who get embarrassed and angry when their kids cry in public.
Other passengers were prob relieved when the baby got taken away

this makes no sense
she took someone else's baby and that calmed the woman down?
If you slap the baby it is just going to cry even more and draw attention to you, that mom is a bitch.

I'm guessing that it calmed the other passengers down.
Kid deserved it, She was doing everyone a favor
There's always a crying baby. Anytime I've ever been on a long flight there is ALWAYS a crying baby on board.
Good job SW Airlines! xD
I see a gap in the market. Baby ball-gags.
:buddy:
Damn parents, cause a slap to the face will stop the baby from crying, ofcourse!
Seriously, she should not have that kid.

Sitting on it would of worked.
Well at least she didn't punch the baby. :buddy:
Poor baby. :'(
Just don't take the fucking baby on board a plane, the ear popping experience is fucking them up and making them cry.
It's not only annoying to the parents, all the other people on board get annoyed to hell and back too.
can people just not fly with crying babies I mean damn
can people just not fly with crying babies I mean damn
Nope, because there is no such thing as a babysitter.
Crying babies make me rage.
I had too stand in a line for a gondola in Banff down the mountain and for 2 FUCKING HOURS I heard nothing but a high-pitched whine.
By the end of the line I felt like I wanted to sock that goddamned baby, but when I imagined doing it I cringed and felt almost sick, and that wasn't even my damn kid.
For that MOM to do that too her kid sitting comfortably in a flight makes me feel even sicker. Someone adopt that poor bastard.
Slapping a crying baby?
That sounds like my sister.
:sigh:
I don't get how you take a baby from a mother like that. Even though it's the right thing to do, I can't picture a flight attendant walking over to the mom and going "Ma'am, please hand over your baby" or anything like that.

There probably was an Air Marshall on board, and that may be who took away the baby. Sometimes, the air marshalls are disguised as attendants.

My parents. :smith:
This airline incident is a scam.
Leadership scams women with dubious groupthink, while utilizing Quiverfulls to acquire new social security numbers for fake ID on children which may or may not have been born and killed; selling babies in black-market adoptions, whether to child-hungry middleclass or to pedophiles; and killing the less-than-perfect.
In certain rural sections of the South, illegitimate and/or unwanted children are butchered and fed to the family in stews. Not every nutcase is as Christian as s/he appears.
