A 16-year-old girl has died after she was hit by a train while trying to retrieve her dog from the tracks.
Natasha Elliott died when she was hit just outside Morley station, near Leeds, yesterday.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "Natasha was believed to have been trying to retrieve her dog from the tracks.
"She was struck by the 17.52 York to Blackpool North Northern Rail service."
He said officers first received reports of the accident at 6.44pm. Natasha, from Morley, was taken to hospital but she died later.
"Our thoughts are with Natasha's family and friends at this difficult time," the spokesman said.
at least the dog can look back and tell his kids of this awesome story
I heard someone talking about her today, I think she knew a friend or something :saddowns:

Well the dog didn't die.
Sad to see someone try to save their dog and die because of that. Unless she didn't notice the train.

Oh I see what you did there, sir.
"She was a wonderful person with a cheeky smile and a mischievous sense of humour." :q:
She died a hero.
RIP.
How the fuck do you not feel/see/hear the train coming? Just lie down and get your foot amputated by the train, then you're still alive.

Thank god the dog is okay.
One would think 16 year old would be smarter than that.

Also,OP's name fits.
Well, she must be retarded to jump infront of a train to save her dog. I'm sorry, but it's true.
I would jump in front of a train for my dog.
Atleast she died as a hero. A hero who is willing to save her life, in order to save her dog.
It may seem cruel, but I wouldn't risk death just to get my dog off the track...
So did at least dog survive in the end?
I guess she was HIT BY A TRAIN WHILE TRYING TO SAVE HER DOG!
Heartwarming, depressing, and kind of fail at the same time.
It's common sense, if there are trains potentially travelling at 125mph, don't go there. She should have thought of that before she tried to save the dog.
That girl had a lot of courage to sacrifice herself for her dog.

Oh yeah, I have Railworks, trains take fucking forever to stop when going at a high speed.
Poor Dog :(
