I owned a holden astra (same thing) and it's high maintenance. Timing belt needs to be replaced at 60000 k's, something fucked up with the plugs (keep in mind; regular service intervals and the owner before me was a mechanic as well who did everything to it) and it stopped running, then just before I got rid of it the air conditioning was about to break (made a god awful noise when it was running).
And that had only done 90000 k's. Every mechanic that fixed the various problems said "yeah, we see a lot of these. Expect *part* to break next."/
Sooo yeah
This car is at 125k KM the seller said its in good condition im also gonna make a Test drive tomorrow - See if everything works and let engine check by a friend

Well that's dumb if they do.
In the UK, all cars of this type (corsa, astra, vectra, etc) are branded Vauxhall.
In the EU (Including Southern Ireland) they are branded as Opel, but they could be manufactured in pretty much any country General Motors possesses a factory, therefore you have vectras (UK badging) manufactured in Germany by Opel as well as Australian Holdens all badged up as Vauxhalls.
Look under the bonnet and find the identity plate, you'll find the manufacturer and country of origin inscribed.
Looks like something a woman would drive, but I guess because you live in Germany all the half-decent manly cars are pretty expensive. I hear good enough things about the Astra, and if your budget is that low there's not a whole lot better to go out and buy.
When a gallon of petrol costs about $6,5 over here, it doesn't matter if it looks manly or not. Looks perfectly fine.
Paint a huge, raging penis on the side of it.

And engulf the phallus in flames for maximal sport effect.
Knowing autoscout24.de, I know that you can get a lot better than an opel astra for €2.5k
Like this small and sporty Honda Logo 1.3 from 2001

Or this Alfa Romeo 147 1.6 Twin Spark from 2001

If only there was a Cars V7 - Sporkfire's late again thread :ohdear:
No bias here or anything, but when I see an opel car drive past (I live in England where the majority are Vauxhall) I just think it looks weird. I think the vauxhall logo looks awesome.
Alfa has engine dmg

and also im not gonna drive 500km for a car
how old are you op?
I am 22 lol (and male) Does it matter ?
just wondering about like insurance and such, but it makes sense, i cant believe how insane insurance is there
Ya its expensive in germany :p but im gonna add this car as my fathers 2nd car :} so it will be cheap
yeah that will help a lot, i am insured as the second driver only on my families geo prizm but we have eight cars since there are eight people

Knew it was too good to be true, but that just shows how good my german is.
Still, I'd look around for a car from 2000 or younger, as they've usually got more features, and some insurance companies cut down on the price if the car is from 2000 or up.
