I thought it was a great movie, I wonder why all the critics smash the movie? Maybe it was because of it's anti-federal message.
Conspiracy theory aside though, what was everyone's thoughts on Robin Hood?
i thought it was fucking bad
it dragged on far too long considering there was nothing that kept you hooked to watching it
I will never see Robin Hood with the same eyes after having seen Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Now that's a fucking good film.
I thought this movie was good, but I got bored during several scenes. The action was real good though.
And good Little John scenes?
Lacked the adventure that a Robin Hood movie should have, was far too action packed, and it really felt too much like Gladiator. Oh well, went in with low expectations and came out feeling the same.
I personally thought the movie was a great movie, if not better than Iron man 2. i guess it depends on personal preferences though. Loved the action and plot

Slightly late, but the film so fucking win that it had to be done.
I've only seen the previews but I thought it looked like another generic middle-ages war movie with all the "epic" fight scenes shown in it. Robin Hood isn't supposed to be a story about large-scale battles, it just looks completely uncharacteristic to me.

well, they kind of explain all of that near the end of the movie
i thought it was pretty good, not as good as gladiator.. but not bad! and i don't generally like movies i see in theaters
Isn't this the movie where they put in a Higgins boat?
Was great in my opinion, but the scenes that weren't action seemed to just lumber along slowly. I realize story is important but the action scenes were just really exciting and great, while the talking scenes were so mind-numbingly boring that the contrast between the two made you just feel like waiting for the action scenes. I went with a group of five and paid for them all, but the ticket price raised without us knowing so we only had enough money for a bucket of popcorn. That lasted us about five minutes into the movie. Two of them fell asleep and one of them actually left.
Why have Robin Hood movies got a tendancy to put him in brown and armour, make him use his sword more than his bow and make him a moody brat?
He is supposed to be a symbol of resistance, he is supposed to wear leaf green and pull off awesome shots. All this tied in to a romantic sub-plot. All the new films I've seen make the romance the main theme along with mindless action and crap dialogue.
To anyone who thought this was a movie about the actual Robin Hood story, it's basically a prequel to the legend. At the end everything comes together to lead into the actual Robin Hood story we all know and love.
I liked the movie, and I thought Ridley Scott did a great job directing.
And good Little John scenes?
Pretty much every scene he's in. He's fucking badass as shit in it.
I just got back from seeing it. Its not as good as I would have liked it to have been but I still thought it was awesome, maybe there will be a nice directors cut like with so many other Scott films
Man, I play way too much Rome: Total War.
All I could think about in that last battle was how stupid the cavalry charge was. They charged after about 3 volleys of arrows, when all they had to do was hold them at that windy road choke point while archers rained arrows.
I was a little disappointed. It wasn't about Robin Hood at all! He was an insignificant soldier in a big war. Then he ended up killing the bad guy. Now he's a criminal. What a way to end it.
gladiators in tights
Russell Crowe as Robin Hood
Why not?
It was hideously boring and dragged for far too long, doesn't even deserve a thread

one hundred times this
Robin Hood has been beat to death.
I head-butted Robin Hood into submission.
Russel Crowe just wasn't convincing as Robin Hood considering his age.
That and it was just too long, it dragged on for a lot of the time, and it seemed a lot longer than what it actually was, which is bad.
3.5/10 disappointing.
i thought it was ok. more like 75% talking and 15% action. but when the action does start its good. what i like about it is that it opens it up for a lot more sequels which maybe that was what the director aimed for i dont know.
Men in Tights was awful, but at least that was the point. I wanted to see the new Robin Hood film, but I doubt it will live up to Prince of Thieves.
Alan Rickman is amazing in it.
