it only came out a year ago :v:
out of all the vince staple songs to get upset about, I wouldn't have expected norf norf
I love vince staples, glad to know Christian moms do too.

Songs that came out over a decade ago are still being played on repeat on the radio.
Is it weird i feel bad for her she is very upset
This is why we need exposure to disappointment and adversity.
How else are you supposed to FUNCTION?
this song is not for my kids
let me read the entire song uncensored in front of my kids

Exactly this.
Nobody is going to make life adversity free and nobody is going to sensor the world for you. The sooner people like her realize this the sooner they can stop making mountains out of mole hills and move on with their weird little lives.
Think about how much time she has on her hands to dwell on shit like this.
I honestly believe that stay at home parents is a very unhealthy thing. Someone who is so sheltered from exposure to the world on a daily basis for years on end turn out to be socially stunted.
I've seen it over and over again with stay at home parents.

I love how casually she drops the word "nigga"
I know that radio station. Unfortunately a lot of people are like this in West Michigan. We're the South of the North.
:snip:
To be fair, I understand her point. While she might be misunderstanding the song, the lyrics taken out of context could be considered extremely inappropriate for kids to be listening to. Her point is that you should pay attention to what your kids are listening to, because even regular radio stations that you might think are alright (in your book) aren't actually something you'd want your kids hearing.
when she talks about the pop music she listened to growing up (Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Christina Aguilara, Britney Spears), she lists four artists whose music was arguably the most sexual of that era. hell, even the fucking Backstreet Boys couldn't resist implying they'd have sex with their female fans in their biggest hits
"Looking at the crowd
And I see your body sway, c'mon
Wishin' I could thank you in a different way, c'mon"
That's from Larger Than Life.

While I do agree with the idea of taking initiative in what media your children consume, I feel like it is a lot more effective to not just turn off the music they are listening to and/or banning them from listening to it, but rather to talk to them directly about it. I mean sure if the kid is 5 or young like that a sit down talk about the word 'nigger' probably isn't gonna do anything, I'm talking early teens like 12+ that would be able to understand concepts a little better. I like her concern, but if you are a grown ass adult and actually cry while reading raunchy lyrics, then you must have been under a rock in one form or another.
