Mayor Rob Ford has been admitted to Humber River Hospital after being diagnosed with a tumour, the hospital says. “Earlier today Mayor Rob Ford attended Humber River Hospital’s Church Street Emergency Department, complaining of abdominal pains that have persisted for at least three months and have become worse in the last 24 hours,” the hospital release said. “Examination and investigation has resulted in a working diagnosis of a tumor.” His brother, Coun. Doug Ford, and Dr. Rueben Devlin will provide an update at 7 p.m. at the hospital’s Church Street location.
No matter your opinion of the man, this is rather sad news to hear. I wonder how this'll affect his election campaign. I feel kinda bad for hoping he'll drop out to focus on recovery and cement John Tory's victory. Update:
Mayor Rob Ford has a tumour in his lower left abdomen and doctors at Humber River Hospital are in the process of trying to determine if it’s cancerous. The tumour was discovered during a CT scan after the mayor attended the hospital’s Church Street emergency department on Wednesday complaining of intense pain. At a conference Wednesday evening, Humber River Hospital CEO, Dr. Rueben Devlin said Ford has been experiencing abdominal pain for up to three months, but it had greatly intensified over the last 24 hours. “We need to determine exactly what type of tumour it is and then we can decide on what treatment he needs,” he said. Devlin said biopsy results should be completed within a week. He also said tests are being conducted to see if the tumour is anywhere else.
http://www.citynews.ca/2014/09/10/mayor-ford-hospitalized-after-tumour-found-in-abdomen-biopsy-pending/ Video of the press release in the source.
Oh fuck, that sucks.
That's gotta suck.
Politics and crack jokes aside, the man's a father, and tumors are nothing to fuck around with. Get well soon, Rob Ford.
Updated OP, confirmed tumour in his abdomen, don't know yet if it's cancerous.
He must be looking for a marijuana exemption.
"It was medicinal crack!"
