The marathon will kick off with RWBY, the Rooster Teeth-produced animated series about a team of young huntresses in training. Known for its distinctive art style and action-packed episodes, RWBY is an essential starting point for a new wave of American otaku. Get ready for the upcoming fifth Volume by binging your way through all four previous Volumes of the show.
On October 15, the day after RWBY concludes, it’ll be time to d-d-d-d-duel! All 236 episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! will run for a little over two weeks straight. And before you ask, yes, it’s dubbed, so those memories of watching TV in junior high will come rushing back in no time.
come watch awkward 3d animation then a awkward attempt at making a childrens card game show out of a anime full of violence.
I never did watch the whole of Yu-Gi-Oh. Might as well try to see it past where I stopped.
talking about yu gi oh, is the abridged version still going on?
RWBY is free to watch anyway, what's the point of watching it on stream?
i like how the main characters have all these swords but whenever they attack something they dont have a single trace of blood from cuts
RWBY is apparently really bad if it goes after some opinions from online people on this forum.

it started out pretty alright but got worse when the main animator died
he's probably rolled in his grave enough to be dust by now based on how they've treated the show

and tbh on the tech side it was full of visual errors, like clipping, running anims not matching the actual speed the characters are moving etc.
I've seen SFM videos with more effort put into it, although I understand that doing an entire series is way harder than just one video
If you want generic, flashy actions where things happen at other things, RWBY is great. If you want to stab yourself in the ears because the voices are terrible, its great. If you want some neat weapon concepts that progressively get stupider as the series goes on, its great.
Like, its certainly not the worst thing I've ever watched, but there is so much more that could be done with it.
This was the first time I have seen a few full episodes of this show, outside of a few /co/ memes and just proxy stuff due to friends.
This first season is strange. It's okay-ish, but the animation/acting quality is ludicrously awful at points.

...It's called aura. It's basically a shield projection of a character's soul. It depletes when damaged, and when it breaks, they're as vulnerable to injury as anyone. Main characters have been stabbed, grievously injured, killed and even maimed.
Maybe check the basics before you start talking shit just because hating RWBY is popular on FP...

It’s really not. It's flawed, but the worst you could ever accuse it if being is average, and to some people that's the same things as being worthless.
I can't even go that far. Hiccups aside, its characters are memorable, fantastically designed, it knows how to tell a story that invests you and pulls at your heartstrings. And it's instantly recognizeable.

oh my god
I'm embarrassed for you

Every time I see it the show always just puts me off
I just will never enjoy it

according to the RWBY wiki, aura isnt even talked about till season 2 episode 4.
Season 1 (which is what the marathon is currently on) does this and doesnt explain why.
maybe the show should do a better job explaining early on the basics of combat.

Wrong again, bucko.
Volume ONE, episode six, the moment any of the serious establishing of characters, teams and real combat starts. That episode is DOMINATED by an explanation of the Grimm, aura, and shows Jaune Arc getting his aura unlocked in a powerful scene.
And all the while, as these things are exposited, we see Lie Ren meanwhile fighting a massive Grimm, and the entire scene illustrates wonderfully the things that are currently being explained by Pyrrha as she says them.
It's nothing less than an excellent first step into understanding this world and how it works, and begins one of the seminal relationships that have driven the series and characters.
World of Remnant entries are entirely supplemental material, and only started in V2.

And I, you...
all the friends I go to comic con with are nuts about RWBY so this is good timing to see what it's all about and man this looks gross

I absolutely would not call that scene powerful. Like there are some that certainly could be called that by the standards of the series, but Pyrrha's awkward conversation with him about as powerful as a father trying to talk to their son about sex for the first time after catching them jerking off.

I don't know what to tell you. I disagree. In particular, the aura unlocking chant is so goosepimpling, I snuck the end of it into my own wedding vows and got compliments across the board... "and by my shoulder protect thee..." fuck yeah
Did yugioh ever come out on DVD? Is this going to be the first time it's available digitally?

Looks like someone got a little happy with the Kinect

Yeah, the poster child for the animation limitations of Volume 1... which was animated in full by a grand total of TWO fucking people, atop all the asset creation, setup and everything else required to make a CG webseries.
Have a little perspective. Even RWBY fans tease that scene.

Oh god that's actually worse.
kinda curious why they don't use renderman/maya/blender/whatever
i turned on the stream to see one of the characters running sideways up a hill at like half speed
who thought this was a good idea? i'm being reminded of old videos i would make in 3D Movie Maker back when i was like 8 years old :v:
The English dub of RWBY is trash anyway, why not stream it in the original but subbed?

Wow, look at you, beating on the work of a dead guy trying to make his dream come true... I hope you feel so big and important, because OBVIOUSLY an independent shoestring budget and, again TWO... FUCKING... ANIMATORS... should be able to replicate the rendering quality of Pixar...
Yeah, you feel like a big fucking man. I'm sure you've done better...

Im current seasons they do. Before, Poser worked with Monty's workflow.
