Driving a motorcycle is already dangerous at it is, but driving a motorcycle recklessly is downright suicidal. I don't know much about road safety in Russia, but I would't do it in any other part of Europe either. Some of these riders took major risks: overtaking on the inside through an intersection and overtaking at speed between two driving cars are both extremely dangerous things to do.
that was too intense for christmas morning deary me
When kids started getting hit by full size motorcycles going at 50+ Km/h was when I stopped watching. Jesus fucking Christ when that baby carriage got hit and the baby just went flying down the road. Why can't people just drive in a calm manner and actually give a shit about other peoples lives.

Major thing I learnt during driving exam is you never ever stop on a busy road to let a pedestrian cross, cause they'll take it from you that it's safe. That was fucking brutal though and the copious footage of broken legs and ragdolling made me stop watching.
I don't know much about road safety in Russia, but I would't do it in any other part of Europe either.
What is road safety :downs:
i like the music but what the fuck i'm pretty sure half of these people died
Uh what the second one is from the UK...
Uh what the second one is from the UK...
Many of those clips are not from Russia tbh.
What is road safety :downs:
Are you implying that many people in Russia do not know proper road safety? Or that they do not care? I sort of hoped that all the dash cam videos were just causing the stereotype, and that it wasn't much worse in Russia than anywhere else in Europe.
i like the music but what the fuck i'm pretty sure half of these people died
Nah. The ones who wear protection are very unlikely to die, unless there's something really terrible. Most lived. But jesus christ our bikers are retarded. It's by far the most fucking retarded and oblivious creature you can meet in Russia. They don't look forward, it's no coincidence that that half of the videos start filming something behind or the the side of the vehicle. They lack any kind of awareness of the speed their going at. And while they're extremely vulnerable compared to any other vehicle on the road (we don't call them 'crunchies' for nothing), they manage to be behave like complete dicks. I find it real hard feeling anything towards these idiots, the absolute most of the time the void in their heads is the sole reason they're dying.
but gudman, a lot of the crashes were because of asshole car drivers pulling out of a junction onto the main thoroughfare, where the bikers had right of way... half these crashes are because the people driving cars are oblivious jackasses

Statistics say that it's much worse than pretty much anywhere in Europe. We know proper road safety, but often we don't care because in majority our driving schools never explain the why of it and people sometimes don't understand that road rules are written with blood. There're people who make a fucking point breaking the laws every once in a while at every opportunity because they think the rules are stupid. [editline]25th December 2014[/editline]
but gudman, a lot of the crashes were because of asshole car drivers pulling out of a junction onto the main thoroughfare, where the bikers had right of way... half these crashes are because the people driving cars are oblivious jackasses
I won't deny that. But in many cases even where car drivers were terribly oblivious, the crash could've been prevented should biker balance his speed with the speed of the overall traffic. Not that it makes car driver any less of an irresponsible jackass, but still it plays a role.
1:00 is Australia This is clear from the loud 'AWW FUCK'

I sort of hoped that all the dash cam videos were just causing the stereotype, and that it wasn't much worse in Russia than anywhere else in Europe.
The reason why we get so many dashcam videos from Russia is that you get a discount on your insurance if you have a dashcam installed. That, coupled with the fact that Russia is a massive country, means you have a lot of videos of people being idiots on the road. That said, statistically speaking, Russia isn't the safest place in the world to drive a car in, but it's not the worst either.
I know the first two facts, I was just asking if it actually reflected the truth, but if gudman is even remotely correct, it sounds like the people of Russia aren't exactly the champions of road safety. That aside, all the bikers I have met in my life have been absolute morons in regards to traffic safety, be they Danish, Austrian or German.

Hell, 10 years ago most people couldn't probably tell what to do with turn indicators. The situation has changed quite a bit in those departments. We're slowly learning.

But it's not limited to Russia. I'm in Spain now, and seen a lot of examples like dude on a bicycle driving through a roundabout while holding a phone with both of his hands and looking exclusively at it. People also don't look when crossing the road. They assume that zebra's are some magical place where laws of inertia don't apply. There was an accident outside my window not long ago, I didn't see it happen, but a car hit somebody on a zebra, with a straight road with no visual obstructions leading to it. The ped probably haven't looked if there was a car, or assumed it would stop if he'd jump on the road suddenly. Oh come on why include kids in that video I just wanna see accidents not feel sorry for the world [editline]25th December 2014[/editline]
Are you implying that many people in Russia do not know proper road safety? Obviously it may differ in big cities, but overall it's not bad at all.
how did the red car in 1:27 crash into the bike? It was completely stationary and then it just jumped wtf
how did the red car in 1:27 crash into the bike? It was completely stationary and then it just jumped wtf
Probably got hit by another vehicle in the front.
I probably just saw at least 3 deaths.
i don't feel bad for most of the victims of those zebra path accidents at all. Never take priority for granted.
Related; Car crashes
Some of those bikers are driving like such assholes that they're basically begging to be hit
One of my fathers co workers got knocked off his bike and then proceeded to getting his head flattened by an 18 wheeler. Never getting on a motorcycle.
Half of those incidents could have been avoided if the car drivers used their fucking turn lights.
