Her family is saying that because she was in special education classes as a child, she has no understanding of cause and effect and thus is innocent in all of this. Will be interesting to see how her defense plays out in court.

If that's the case then Omar Mateen is an even bigger monster than he already was. He knowingly used his mentally challenged wife to commit mass murder.

As far as I can tell that is not the case what so ever.

Special ed != mentally challenged/unable to comprehend that mass murder is wrong.
