Alright then, this thread is about the style of music known as ska. Ska is a style of music that originally came from Jamaica. It's essentially the grand-daddy of reggae, but it doesn't always sound like it. I don't have all that much to say but here's the wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ska So essentially I guess this thread is to share your opinions of ska and maybe share some bands or something. I like ska because it's pretty different, most of the time, and it's very upbeat and uplifting. One of my favorite bands is Imperial Leisure. Here's a link to their myspace: http://www.facebook.com/search/?q=imperial+leisure&init=quick#/imperialleisure?ref=search&sid=100000283495610.1518496699..1 They're a british band, but they're pretty original and different. I highly recommend them to anyone who likes ska music, rock in general, or just likes to listen to things they haven't heard before.
I don't listen to traditional ska, but I do listen to a lot of third wave ska: Streetlight Manifesto Reel Big Fish Sublime Early No Doubt Rancid The JB Conspiracy The Chekers Long Beach Dub All Stars Early 311
Early 311
Just early 311? :saddowns: Pepper is pretty sweet.
I don't listen to ska anymore. [editline]09:16PM[/editline] Except BTMI and ASOB but that's not really ska.
Reel Big Fish; hot and nerdy. :fappery:
I quite like 7 seconds of love, a British comedy ska band.

Early stuff by Suicide Machines (even though it was pretty punk/metal) And the best ska song of all time Superman by Goldfinger
I started listening to the Rx Bandits, because Rich Balling (the dude who put together The Sound Of Animals Fighting) used to be in it. It's pretty good music.
