I've noticed that the majority of threads in here are about recreational drugs such as cannabis, salvia, LSD, etc. There is a distinct lack of discussion about stimulants, drugs that make you more alert and wake you up.
There are a few stimulants I have tried, such as Ephedrine and Modafinil along with more conventional drugs such as caffeine and glucose.
Dangerous, illegal or questionable drugs are highlighted.
[b]Caffeine[/b]
I have taken caffeine tablets under two brand names; Pro-plus and Spike. Both of these made my heart race, made my hands unsteady and gave me lots of energy. The Spike tablets (which were really bloody big and contained a ridiculous amount of caffeine) made me feel a bit ill too. Just thinking about it makes my stomach turn. I would not recommend these to anyone. However, they are probably the most common used stimulants.
These are available everywhere.
[b]Glucose[/b]
Glucose tablets and drinks such as Lucozade are a good alternative to caffeine. They help keep you awake but they don't give you any of the bad side effects. I didn't experience large amounts of energy from these, but they perked me up.
Like caffeine, these are available everywhere. However, I have not seen glucose tablets being sold outside of a pharmacy.

I was given a few of these tablets from a body building friend. I took one and felt no effect - apparently they aid in concentration and give you energy. I have experienced neither, even when I took a second dose. Reading up about them also makes me a bit dubious, as there are many sources that say that these are very dangerous and can cause heart problems. I would avoid these stimulants like the plague.
I do not know where to get these from. My friend got them from a friend. Another reason to avoid these.
[b]Modafinil[/b]
The new "speed". At the moment, it is being trialled in many militaries as a replacement for Amphetamines (speed). I take these occasionally when I have a lot of work to do. From two separate 100mg doses, I was able to stay awake for 34 hours straight with 5 hours sleep the night before. I was also deep in concentration. I am sure I could have stayed awake for much longer, but I decided that it would be best to sleep.
These feel very strange once taken, they give you a lot of energy. Towards the end of the 34 hours I was aware that I was tired but not in the normal sense. I felt distant from the tiredness, almost like being on Nitrous Oxide during an operation. You are aware of the pain but you don't feel it. Very strange. Another way to put it is that you may start to yawn, but you will stop half way because your brain doesn't want to experience the feeling of tiredness at the peak of the yawn.
Something that is great about these stimulants is that they give you energy, but you can also sleep whilst on them. Unlike caffeine, sleep is not hindered in any way.
I have yet to experience any negative side effects, apart from sleep compensation the next day.
These are available on the internet and on prescription (in the UK) if you have any sleep related disorders or attention deficit disorders. I bought mine from the internet.
If you probably haven't noticed, I feel that I am rambling a bit. That is because I am using Modafinil right now.

You're a cop. This is clearly a ploy to get us to admit to using illegal drugs so we get arrested.
I can honestly say that I am highly addicted to caffeine. When I drink something with caffeine in it, I can feel the caffeine, seperate from the taste. It's just amazing.

I almost had a nasty Adderall habit not too long ago but I caught myself
still have a script for it but haven't bothered to pick up more
one time I took like 6 of them my arms and legs became all numb and tingly and I decided to never try that again
I've done coke,speed,and meth.. Cocaine is a great high, too short lasting though for the price,Way too expensive for my tastes. Speeds ok, I have to take a high dose to get a good high(adderal and such). Meth is a amazing high, intense good feelings, you're on top of the world, just floating kind of high, lasts longer than coke and is cheaper. I'd binge on it for days just walking around on the street smoking and just fucking crash all sweaty on my bed. Biggest mistake of my life to take that drug.

My friends girlfriend is supposed to be seeing her doc about adderall soon so hopefully I'll be having a solid hook up for addies. I havent gotten my hands on any in a long long time.

My doctor wouldn't give me a script for adderall due to me going to rehab instead gave me some anti depressent stuff, any suggestions?
Suggestions as far as what? Also, its stupid that he gave you an anti-depressant when you asked for an ADD drug.

It's supposed to treat it, I'm thinking of telling them it doesn't work for shit, and they'll prescribe me another one which i'll say the same thing until I get the script.

Effexor is an anti-depressant that makes you speed at at higher doses ~150 you get some euphoria, if you're looking for that.
Ephedrine is acctually great if your not like desensitized to stimulants.
It's is also great for the bodybuilding activity.

I believe Adderall is similar to Ritalin yes.
However, MDMA is not a stimulant, it's a psychoactive and although it gives people a lot of energy and often gives them urges to dance, its effects are more in line with a psychoactive than a stimulant.

Psychoactive is a term used for any chemical that gives you mental effect. Stimulants, depressants, psychedelics, deliriants, and disassociatives are all psychoactive drugs.

I've not heard of MDMA being called a stimulant though I suppose you could classify it as a stimulant, I thought it made you think you had energy which is different to cocaine which gives you a really nasty crash after use as it really DOES give you energy.

Trust me Hezzy, you're missing out just doing stimulants, they're famous for their horrid crash, I'm much more into introspective drugs that make me feel happy and/or give me hallucinations.
