Hey all. I was just wondering what you guys use to play your tunes, because I've been using Windows Media Player and I find it pretty cumbersome and annoying at times. I was thinking about changing to something else but I don't know what. What are your suggestions? Thanks.
Winamp or foobar2000 MusicBee is alright too but I had some issues with it.
iTunes.
winamp 4 lyf
I use foobar2k for its simplicity and powerful customization features.
foobar2000.
this is what mine looks like at the moment [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/nPbTAP.png[/t] so damn customizeable
That's really nice? Which skin is that? I can never figure how to get my skins to work on foobar. This is my current Winamp skin. [t]http://puu.sh/6lvO6.png[/t]
foobar2000 is great and an absolute beast when you have the right plugins installed.
-snip-, I should learn how to read
banshee it kind of sucks but i've been using it since 2005 so i am used to that now the windows version isn't really fully functional yet either
VLC Media player but thinking of using Winamp instead.
VLC Media player
It does play everything sure, but it sucks at playing each and every format.. It's also slower than foobar and media player classic.
foobar because I didn't really like how many resources Winamp used considering my music player is open 24/7 [t]http://i.imgur.com/VM3pFSJ.png[/t] Looks like that all the time for the most part, the only thing I change is the color to color code it with my Windows 8 theme at the time.
[t]http://puu.sh/6mqNW.png[/t] generic foobar pleb race. Ignore the weird bitrates, I converted all my music from 320 to VBR
I converted all my music from 320 to VBR
:suicide:
Jesus Christ. So after a literal hour of fidgeting with files and attempting to not fuck it up (which I did a lot), I was able to get a new skin that looks nicer. But if I try to add any other things to this it severely bones the entire theme and turns it into a blank white page.
Windows Media Player
Banshee. There's nothing better for linux right now, but it's not a bad player.
Foobar with ASIO plugin fed to Fiio X3 DAC which feeds into Lear FSM 02 V2 and finally UM Miracle or Merlin. Am I audiophile enough ?
:suicide:
Hey I gotta get all this to fit on my phone's SD card alongside the rest of my shit :v:
I can't imagine a $1000 IEM is worth it
Diminishing returns. [editline]17th January 2014[/editline]
Hey I gotta get all this to fit on my phone's SD card alongside the rest of my shit :v:
VBR should be fine too. iTunes
Hey I gotta get all this to fit on my phone's SD card alongside the rest of my shit :v:

Diminishing returns. [editline]17th January 2014[/editline] VBR should be fine too.
VBR itself isn't the problem, that problem is that he converted from 320 to vbr. 320mp3 is already lossy compression, and so transcoding it to vbr reduces that quality even more, by running it through ANOTHER lossy compression algorithm. If he'd gone back to a lossless file and transcoded that to vbr it would be fine, but I doubt that's how he did it. Think of it like when you repeatedly save an image as a jpeg. It'll go from this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/RaA7848.jpg[/t] to this: [t]http://i.imgur.com/Uy76oK0.jpg[/t] By transcoding between lossy codecs you're just putting your music through the same process tldr: don't transcode lossy codecs. Once something's been transcoded from lossess, leave it how it is [editline]18th January 2014[/editline] On topic, Foobar or musicbee
iTunes 10, the new versions suck imo.
I use iTunes to manage my phone so I also use it for my music. iTunes isn't that bad, it has a way to edit tags and add album art to songs and that is good enough for me.
MusicBee. Was using Foobar before. On the go, I use Google Play Music.
I use Clementine which is nice and super simple but I might use Foobar cos ive heard about it for years but never used it. Its customisation seems pretty great.
MusicBee. I used to use Foobar but could never quite get it how I wanted.
KMPlayer on PC but then again I don't use that as often as I used to. Usually I listen to music off my phone using PowerAMP.
its all about the foobs2k
