Many people believe, and thus blame their fatness on, that you cannot change your body's metabolism (the rate at which your body breaks down shit). This is wrong. Many people with a slow metabolism eat 3 basic meals a day, usually with about 1 or 2 snacks (at night, usually). This makes their body adjust to the basic meals, and because there is a big amount of time in between those meals, your body compensates for that by breaking down stuff slower. The logical (and correct) way to lower your metabolism is to, instead of eating 3 basic meals a day, just eat many small meals a day. There is less space in between meals, so your body will break down shit faster, thus speeding up your metabolism.
Notice I said, "Not GET fat," meaning that, if you aren't fat right now, this will help to prevent you from becoming fat. Exercise and healthy eating helps, too.
I think its okay to be fat as long as you are happy.

being fat will make you unhappy.

no
oh and we should get Zyzz in here to explain to us how to do it right he knows
Of course you should eat at least 5 meals a day instead of a few bigger ones. They taught that at school when I was 7. It will help but it won't do miracles. Gaining some muscle mass is the best way to make yourself burn more calories.

I eat 5 substantial meals a day, and I'm borderline underweight.
Your idea no worky.
i heard that that was a load of unproven bullshit

On the other hand, digestion is better when you have fixed times of when you eat and when not.

You do know what I'm saying, right? If you have a fast metabolism, it is harder to gain weight. So my idea does work.
Can we get a thread to slow down your metabolism please? I need help gaining more weight.
Eat a lot more, do strength training.
I should probably just eat 1 or 2 bigger meals per day then.
I want to gain weight.
Or you could just do it like me.
You know, eat less, form a workout routine, etc.
That's what I've been doing and I'm looking better every week.

read the op again
take a magnifying glass and look at the part where it says:
Many people with a slow metabolism eat 3 basic meals a day, usually with about 1 or 2 snacks (at night, usually). totally dude i wish people would understand that, they seriously hurting themselves by starving themselves

You do know what substantial means, right? Clearly not.
He eats ALOT, and doesn't gain weight, has nothing to do with "your" *theory*.
It's unproven, and has no scientific basis whatsoever.
And if you DON'T want to be a fatty NEVER do what this guy says, never snack at night.
totally dude i wish people would understand that, they seriously hurting themselves by starving themselves
Implying the only way to lose weight is to starve yourself.
I have a ridiculously fast metabolism, which causes underweightness. I'm not complaining though. Provided I eat the correct balance of food I can stay within my recommended margin.

Same here, except I snack all day though, hehe, but I'm still buff and there's no signs of being extremely underweight. I'm in the 15th percentile for weight my age, 92 pounds.

Buff? At 92 pounds?
World's most gigantic midget.

Um, you are completely wrong. Look it up. There are multitudes of sources saying what I have said. It's a fact.
Also, 5 meals fits into the category of what I am saying. Eating 5 meals a day means you eat more frequently than just breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Maybe I should edit the OP?

Google "making your metabolism faster", guarantee it will say what I said, and more.

Well if so, it's not like no matter what this is gonna beef up your metabolism, the fact is not everyone is the same.

I actually do this without noticing, maybe that's why I'm not fat :v:

Yes, but most people's bodies work the same way.

Doing what you said sets the body in a strange metabolic mode for lack of a better term, the body decides it has plenty of food (which it probably does if you live in a first world nation) so doesn't efficiently harvest it.
The issue is if that changes you instantly hit famine mode and the bodies metabolism slows down hard and starts to keep all the excess calories as fat for later use.
For some people the best idea is simply a calorie deficiet and cardiovascular exercise to lose weight, and famine mode to gain weight.
Or a calorie surplus and strength training.
