I just came home after visiting my girlfriend in Halifax for the night. Her mother dropped me off at the ferry terminal where I waited for a little bit then took the ferry back across the water.
Once I got off the ferry and looked over to the parking lot where my dad is always parked when he picks me up. The hood and the trunk were both popped open and my dad was pouring fluid into the engine. I had assumed he was just changing the oil or something because for the last few weeks there was a light on the dashboard that said ‘Change oil soon’.
Anyways, we made it home and I poored myself some Dr Pepper while my dad told my mom the story. Basically, when he was driving up to the ferry terminal to pick me up he was trying to pass some guy on the highway so he pulled into the passing lane and once he pulled up beside the car he was trying to pass, the guy sped up, trying to race my dad like a fucking prick. The passing lane was running out so my dad had to slam the brakes to drop in behind the guy again.
What happened was, that incident caused a cut in the brake line. What my dad was doing was pouring break fluid into the engine. Luckily we hit every green light once we reached town. So the story pretty much was, my dad drove us all the way home at about 100mph for an hour without any brakes. Sure it might not seem like much, but our lives were in his hands, and he is fucking great at driving a car.
Oh and also, hope your guy's halloween was less scary than my dad's.
What kind of car was it? Tell me now.
Maybe he should have called for a tow truck instead of jeapordizing his and his sons life?

Seems pretty reckless and irresponsible to me.

no im sure he had GPS its 2010
Thats not awesome, thats fucking stupid.
Your dad must have mental problems if he thinks it's ok to drive when the brakes aren't working.

An Amerished or Pontiac Shitbox in other words?
Sounds like a shit dad not an awesome one. That is one thing I would not do even if my son wasn't there.
atleast you have a dad
There are 2 break lines in the car. If one fails the other has enough power to still allow for safe breaking until getting it fixed.
Also, what is up with people posting stuff like this? I feel like these are blog type posts.
I like how OPs dad would rather endanger his and his sons life than do something somewhat intelligent like downshifting, turning on the hazards and pulling off to the side :downs:
atleast you have a dad
:(
so he put yours and his life at risk?
:downs:
Lucky op;
My dad cares for my life :smith:
Your dad is an awesome driver. But he is a shitty dad.

Pretty much summed it up.
My dad could kick your dad's ass any day. :colbert:
