Now I realize this isn't such a bad thing. Except that im only 15 and where I live you need to be at least 16 years of age or older to get a full time job and even then you can only work in the Summer while attending regular school. So learning about this I feel I should tell my Dad. This is where I need you help Facepunch, should I tell my Dad before we go out handing resumes (He may get mad thinking I'm just trying to get out of getting a job) or when he tells an employer I want a full time job (Which I really don't, I want a job but not full time)? Gimme your suggestions!
Tell your dad what you stated above. If he says anything other than "OK" kick him in the balls or just try to explain to him the whole thing. If that doesn't work, bring home proof of said rule existing of where you live.
tell him to fuck off
Assualt your father with a tire iron, do not falter, for only with pure strength of heart and commitment shall Scotland gain its freedom.
aka tell him what you're feeling.
My parents said I have to get a job this summer too which I am dreading...
Just make yourself look unappealing during interviews and unless they're desperate, then that might work.
Unfortunately this wouldn't work for me though since they said I have to volunteer somewhere if I can't get a job. :geno:
do it.
moar money.
profit.
I can understand that your parents would want you to get a job, but a full time job?
He's insane.
Drop out of school and start working. Fuck the future.
Maybe your dad is trying to make a point with ya? I really have no idea what the point is but maybe you should have a chat with him about it.
tell him to get a job and fuck off if he needs you to get one if he wants you to give him money for bills etc
your too young to work that much
as said above make it so nobody wants to hire you
So your dad wants you to quit school? Wow, your dad is sure knows how to be a good parent. Seriously.
you'd get less than minimum wage anyway, being under 18, and are unable to be employed for more than i think 4 hours a day and no earlier than 7AM or later than 7PM and not during school hours anyway. It is impossible for you to get a full time job.

yea i was gonna mention that
Where in canada do you live Ontario?
in Ontario i do not think you can work full time at your age
in your school take a co-op course you get work and could get a small job out of it at the end that's what i did in high school
Well I guess I`ll tell him tonight before we go handing out resumes tomorrow. I hope he doesn`t get mad.

make him read the workplace laws for Canada and your province
where's the problem, get the fuck out from school and get your ass to mcdonalds
hes too young to drop out of school in Canada you have to be 17
most of the time they may be trying to help you but in this case your father im gonna put it blunt a dumbass
even in the summer for sombody your age it is not normal at all to work that much and will affect your life and health
Try to ge ta part time job instead
make him read and understand the laws under the Workplace Safety & insurance Board it will explain everything to him
and if a place hires you full time at your age call the WSIB and you can file a complaint and get a few people even your dad in trouble

Why did you quote me?
Full time job before 16 is bollocks
Get a part time. I want to but exams in a month so ye. Get a job and be a rich bastard.
Job is a part of our life you damn pussy.

You gotta start somewhere, and think of it this way, which is the point of a job, your making money for your family.
Do it and then move out and put him in a home.
I don't believe you when you say you have to be 16...
That's the rule here 2 but you can always get a job as paper boy and stuff.
Just tell your dad how it is. That measure has been put in place to ensure young people get a decent education as sometimes a part time job during school time can impact on your grades.
I am surprised your dad did not look into this himself (or know about this) already though. If you're too young they will simply refuse you a job and throw your resume away so it seems like a waste of time unless the job allows younger people (like a paper route like mentioned.)
Just tell your dad it's hard to get a full time job when your 15.
And that you need to worry about your exams and not work.
Good luck.

Its probably against the law and will be considered child labour, your dad cant do anything about that.
