The health secretary – who plans to make a statement to the House of Commons on the NHS later on Monday – said while it was “totally unacceptable” for patients to be left on trolleys for hours, the situation was improving. Also on Monday, the Health Service Journal (HSJ) reported that the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM), which represents emergency doctors, was in “early discussions” over more funding for A&E departments, in the hope this could end up saving money on locum doctors. Theresa May denied that there was any crisis within the health service, insisting that the difficulties were similar to those experienced every year. “We recognise the pressures that the NHS has been under over the winter - this is not unusual. There are always extra pressures for the NHS over the winter period,” she said, arguing that the government had responded to demands for a £10bn funding injection, despite controversy over the figure. ”I would like to thank all those medical professionals working so hard over this period to make sure they are delivering services to patients. The figure was something like 150,000 medical professionals working on Christmas day and new year’s day.” Mike Adamson, the chief executive of the British Red Cross, reiterated his charity’s description of the situation, saying his staff were helping out in 20 A&E departments. “We see people discharged from hospital to chaotic situations at home, falling and not being found for hours, not being washed because there is no carer to help them,” he wrote in an article for the Times. “These are people in crisis and in recent weeks we have started talking about this as a humanitarian crisis. We don’t say this lightly and we have a duty to say it,” he said.
Lying piece of shit, he "thanks" medical professionals whilst secretly pulling the rug out from beneath their feet. I don't know how people can justify the existence of this trash, or any of the other cronies in the Conservative party who are happily giving companies tax cuts whilst raising the notion of increasing council tax and snatching away welfare from those who need it, defunding and dismantling the NHS until the cancer of privatisation spreads even further.
Jeremy Cunt
Thought you could sneak that in, eh? :v: I don't understand how politicians fail to see healthcare as a basic human right. Does money really blind them so much that they can't see the eventual catastrophe stemming from a half-dead populace?
Jeremy do you even want to be elected? Bloody hell.
horrible cunt. when did we become so complacent? previous governments didn't dare touch the NHS for fear of backlash and somehow since davey got in his cronies have had no problems fucking it all up.

So they don't care.
If we aren't in a crisis, can my out of date machines please be fixed Mr Hunt? The collimator on one is shitty and a nightmare to adjust, and both should really be replaced with direct digital systems. Oh, and a replacement for both the scanners, they're out of date too... And every other room really other than dentals.
Government NHS PR formula: 1. 'We've injected <insert big sounding sum of money here with no context or reference of previous funding>' 2. Repeat the big number when pressed (similar to the 'Long Term Economic Plan is working' mantra)
Yes, just pretend everything is fine while you continue to gut and destroy the NHS. It's fucking blatant they are going to force privatisation in the coming years as it will soon be the only option because that's exactly what they want [editline]10th February 2017[/editline]
Thought you could sneak that in, eh? :v: I don't understand how politicians fail to see healthcare as a basic human right. well so far.. he has given me no real answer to solve the queuing ambulances and patients in corridors problem. Honestly if u went into a hospital on a particular day you'd think it was phillipines or something post-tsunami. It's that bad. And the mental healthcare is appauling..

Like if their own health were to be in serious jeopardy unless they put a stop to their inhumane agenda. Make them so deathly afraid of driving the NHS into the dirt that no amount of financial incentive to do so would EVER be enough to assuage their fears towards what would happen to them if they went through with their plans.

The wards are at capacity and therefore A and E patients are unable to be sent to the wards, clogging up A and E. Not to mention the number of bugs going around atm, nearly every ward has an isolation bay! Mental healthcare is the biggie though, speaking as someone with (Now managed) mental health problems.

Just making the tories live like the rest of us do would be enough, but they live highly sheltered lives with impregnable financial safety nets. They will never need to rely on the NHS so it's easy for them to just gut it and turn a blind eye to the hospital corridors filling up with patients with nowhere to go and not enough healthcare professionals to properly see to them.
Misread it as Jeremy Kyle about 4 times in a row it fucked me up. "Leading Countries" are going to shit lately in terms of these awful medical services, its the same in Ireland.

Though of course it'd probably mean playing dirty, and everyone's too afraid to play dirty even when all other options are seemingly exhausted. That's kind of the trouble nowadays. Most of us hate being fucked, but if we don't lay back and let ourselves get fucked, we get beaten. And if we try to beat them back, we get our skulls stomped into the pavement.

Where is this slowdown coming from. The message is that we're overpopulated but come the fuck on.. there are far deeper problems causing this than the population. What about the government closing hospitals?

Granted, Labour were pretty incompetent but at least they weren't intentionally destroying the NHS - it's fairly clear here that it's part of Conservatives' play at defunding the NHS and selling it off at a profit. I'd gladly take Corbyn's Labour over UKIP or the Conservatives but fuck, I'd do so very begrudgingly at this moment and I doubt everyone else here would be able to look last the "MUH WELFARE SCROUNGERS" rhetoric that the old cunt Murdoch has caused to permeate through this country like a foul odour.
I'm certain that this current period in global politics will remembered as an utter disgrace in a couple decades

What about the government closing hospitals?
Oh thats all coming from a crippling lack of funding leading to the NHS shrinking while service demands increase, when with an older, fatter, more populous society demanding newer, more expensive treatments, it needs to be expanded. This strain on resources means that only critical things are carried out, meaning more expensive and intensive treatments are needed, when ideally prevention would be possible. Add to that the gutting of nurse and AHP course funding and bursaries, and the effective ~15% pay cut forced when agenda for change was implemented ages ago and basically froze pays and the staffing issues will likely get worse. The Tories want it to crash and burn so they can shove in G4S et al.
As a student nurse...........Fuck Jeremy Cunt, he actually cancelled a visit to my area due to a "security risk" namely all the staff were waiting to line up to punch the fucker, as a joke i even made a sign on a staff training day and stuck on the wall saying......line starts here.
