Early, 24, and his girlfriend were leaving the CityScapes Gentlemen's Club on 58th Street in Maspeth in an Uber car around 4:30 a.m. when the vehicle was surrounded by at least two other cars and as many as six men got out, authorities said
officials say the men demanded Early's "gold" and took two gold chains and gold teeth caps before shooting him in the right kneecap and driving off. The Uber driver and the girlfriend were not hurt.
Early and the Uber driver sought help at a nearby house. A neighbor told NBC 4 New York he called 911 because he saw a tall man and another man trying to get into the house and thought it was a break-in; it was Early and the Uber driver, and the man who lived at the home they were trying to access let them in and got them help, the neighbor said. Holy shit that's going to end his career
Robbing him is one thing but shooting him in the kneecap? What trash
Getting capped in the knee cap. Ouch. Sounds like a planned hit.
The justice system is going to light them on fire and piss on their corpses if they get caught.

Well, that and his career's in jeopardy.
Terrible news to hear about a young guy having this done to him.
Hopefully he can fully recover and get back on the court.

Impossible to get back into professional play with a fucked up kneecap.

They got his kneecap, so more than likely this is gonna be his retirement, unless some marvel happens, which is horribly unfortunate.
The guy is young too, why someone would do this is unbelievable. And he complied, yet they still shot him, fucking disgusting. More than likely this was planned, especially shooting him directly in the kneecap.
You'd have to be a Wizard to come back after suffering that sorta of injury.
if this is the end of his career, at least he still has his contract. hopefully ESPN or similar would have broadcasting opportunities for him
At a strip club in Queens at 4:30 AM?
Come on man, you play for the Knicks why not at least go to a strip club in Manhattan?
Sucks for him though ,hopefully he still has a future(probably not as a player) in the NBA
I forgot to put this little bit in the op
Just last week, another New York Knicks player, Derrick Williams, was the target of of thieves ... who allegedly made off with over $600,000 in jewelry
Lock these trash up for life, if they just want to ruin other people's lives for enjoyment, they cannot be trusted to live in our society.

I believe that was the intention.

Anyways that's some crazy shit.
jesus christ they took the gold off his teeth? having a buncha thugs yank crowns out of your mouth with pliers sounds almost worse than getting shot in the knee

Good news for the dude. If he manages to stay with the Knicks, hopefully he learns to stay away from the shadier parts of NY.

Lucky dude. Remarkable that he narrowly escaped something career-ending.
Holy fuck no no no no, just the thought of being shot in the knee is making me sick.
I really hope that guy recovers.

How is that even possible? I am feeling my knee and just about all of it seems like it has some kind of structure in it.

That's a matter of turning a street corner.

That's a matter of turning a street corner. Any part of NY can go from good to bad in a second.

OP says they were caps, so I'm assuming they come off easier then an actual golden tooth.
Also, 5 bucks says the assailants were Celtcis fans.

he was probably wearing grillz, its just a super blinged-out mouth guard popular amongst street culture(along with rolexes and aviators)
glad he didnt suffer structural kneecap damage, looks like he's still got a future

Sounds like these guys are either hitting a string of bad luck right now, or thugs are deciding to deliberately target the big names now. Which is probably going to get them fucking maimed by other thugs looking to take a share or just for trying to fuck over the local NBA team.
How does someone get shot in the knee and not have structural damage? Somethings way wrong with this story.
How does someone get shot in the knee and not have structural damage? Somethings way wrong with this story.
Maybe just before he got shot he panicked and moved his knee resulting in the bullet swiping his leg or hitting somewhere close.

Lucky I guess.
How does someone get shot in the knee and not have structural damage? Somethings way wrong with this story.
Bullet could have just hit the leg above or below the knee, close enough to look like a knee injury without actually hitting it, especially with tissue damage and blood on the region. Doesn't have to be a media conspiracy, most likely just a simple mistake from whoever initially reported the story.
