Ohhhhhhhh sweet, I have it on GOG, I heard the Steam version was going to get stuff from the Xbox version (The HD artwork for example), but damn, all the official expansions, I'm sold.

I just remembered, I got my GOG copy for free back during that promo they had. So this works out.
But the Nuclear Winter expansion sucks.... :|
I really should play Duke Nukem 3D. But the fucked up perspective when you aimed up or down makes my head hurt.

Holy fuck, those expansions like "Life's a beach" are pretty hard to come by or maybe that's just what I think
Holy fuck, those expansions like "Life's a beach" are pretty hard to come by or maybe that's just what I think
No they're pretty rare. I don't even think LGR has all of them.
Then play it through a source port that fixes it.
Which one does? I used EDuke32 and it didn't fix it.
Which one does? I used EDuke32 and it didn't fix it.
Make sure you selected "32-bits OpenGL" render in the video options. Edit: Comparative screenshots: [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Eduke32-Software.png[/img_thumb] [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Eduke32-OpenGL.png[/img_thumb] First one is Software render, the second is OpenGL render.
well, looks like I'm buying Duke Nukem again. I wonder if all the old TC's and mods will still work. Starship Troopers TC, Platoon, Zero Hour...
Meh, I still have a physical copy and got it for free on GOG. I don't think I need yet another.
I have Life's a Beach on CD. Pretty fun. Only ever seen it once. Only ever worked once.
I still have a physical copy, a GoG copy, and I still think I will buy this. Definitely deserves a spot in my steam library more than DNF does.
But god is the trailer shoddy. He even used godmode for all of the footage, you can see the health jitter when he's underwater. And what's up with the random Shadow Warrior sounds from 0:33 on till the end? Intentional? Edit: Apparently, early versions had some dozens of superfluous copies of the main GRP in them. wonderful
I wish Lucasarts would do the same for Dark Forces and Outlaws :c
I wish Lucasarts would do the same for Dark Forces and Outlaws :c
Sadly they wont as its been pointed out a few times, they lost all of the original game assets and code. The versions on steam are literally the old original compiled retail games with the steam api hacked on top using an external module.
When I put it in the steam search bar it autofills but just reloads the store page....
I wonder what it would be like if they took all the old gameplay elements and designs and applied today's graphical advancements.
Any word on when this will be released?
I was brought up on these games and I wish it was the Nintendo 64 version, I much prefer the pistol in that.
I just hope they don't shove this game up our throats with a 40-60$ tag. I loved this game and played it at release in '96 and will play the HD version again, with no regrets. I just hate the HD version remarketing with huge pricing.

I don't see how this could be any better than the latest version of EDuke. Buying it though may gauge more interest in a real duke nukem game and not something like the travesty that was DNF.

I'll wait for a sale, I already own it, so I'm not overly keen on buying it again, though the extra expansions are definitely nice.
I wonder if I should buy it on sale like I did doom/morrowind/GTASA just to collect it when I get money to blow. Doom and Duke Nukem are too 'old' for me to get into, I don't know, its just my bias. But, you'd have to be a boring fuck to not respect the true quality of the games. They may be damn old but they've aged fine.

It is better for sure but I still get motion sick from playing it. I think it's because of the narrow fov.
What's with all the re-releases and updates to old games recently? Stronghold HD and Stronghold Crusader HD - had a lot of fun with it Age of Empires 2 HD - looking forward to that Worms Armageddon - planning on getting this, I loved Worms 2 and Worms World Party, never owned Armageddon. and now Duke 3D
