The Cape is an upcoming American one-hour superhero drama series. It is expected to air on NBC during the 2010–2011 television season as a midseason replacement.
Basicly, the show's about a good cop in a corrupt city, who is framed for a crime he didn't commit and left for dead, eventually, he's rescued by a circus ringleader who prepares him with special abilities to defend himself against his enemies and shit. Now he must get rid of the corruption that has taken over both the city and the police, and fight the one responsible for his "demise". (cliche as fuck, but now, what superhero story isn't?).

Sure, it looks cheesy and all, but it looks like it could be interesting (Kinda reminded me of Kick-Ass, too), plus, Keith motherfucking David and Vinnie Jones.
So yeah, I'm optimistic about this. Thoughts?
Looks badass, I'll watch it.
And fuck yeah, Summer Glau. She's uber hot.
Oh yeah, in fact, Summer Glau's presence is enough to keep me interested.
Well don't that beat all.
Bumping since the show premieres tomorrow at at 9 pm Eastern and Pacific Time, so, check it out and post your opinions here.
Yeah I'm still optimistic about it.

Apparently, Bear McCreary is composing the music for this show. Awesome.
I'll be watching this
Though they cancel everything
I loved the midget part
"The yellow brick road is that way"
I'll be watching this.
So, I just finished watching the pilot.
I liked it, good acting, really good effects, and the fight scenes are awesome. What I like about this show the most is that it has a good old fashioned supervillain, costume and all, an idea many superhero shows/movies don't get quite right.
However there's one thing I hate about it: the pacing. The best way to describe it would be "totally fucked", seriously, it makes the episode feel like a 60 minute long "previously on".
Anyway, It's entertaining, and I liked it overall, but I do hope they fix the royally fucked pacing.
Also, Bear McCreary's score is awesome as usual.
I wanted to watch it but it's on at the same time as Desperate Housewives so I'll watch it online tomorrow

Yeah I noticed that too. I think they should have had an episode for the introduction to the characters and plot and then an episode for his training and how he became the cape. Not just 5 minute snippets of both. But its a new series so they probably were only given a small amount of episodes to work with.

Why the hell does it keep on deleting my posts
I thought it was a good start, a bit slow at the beginning but it picked up pretty fast.
So what I was trying to say was that they should have had one episode for the intro to the characters and plot and ended it with the [sp]train car explosion[/sp] Then the second episode should have been about his training and how he became the cape. Of course nbc probably only gave them like 6 episodes or something to work with so they had to cut everything into them.
Its why so many shows fail now. Broadcasting companies don't want to take the risk of failure so they minimize the cost of the new shows which usually dooms them to fail.
I quit 30 minutes in.
Everything just seemed so rushed, it was really quite boring.
Only part I found rushed was the "The Cape is born" part.
They should have expanded on how he finally became excepted into Max's group
They didn't pull off his motivations very well.
He is a cop and former special operations soldier in a city where the justice system is literally run by the bad guys.
You can't be batman in this situation. You have to be the punisher. Batman works because batman has the commissioner working for him. Faraday does not.
He has no character backstory for not simply picking up a gun and shooting that stupid fucker with the poison.
he's had so many times to take out chess's life but he didn't. gg.
Is everything created by 12 year old filter rapists in After Effects nowadays or what?
What happened to the skillful craft of special effects and photography?
Looks cool though. But it burns my eyes and grates my ears like everything else these days.
I liked it. It's going to air on mondays after chuck so it looks like I won't have to choose between this and desperate housewives
I enjoyed the show overall, thought the "training" was able to connect to common folks like us.
He doesn't have "superpowers" he just has a really kick ass awesome cap that has a mind of its own!
What I dislike is......this replaced Heroes.
The story is sorta rushed.. and the special effects are oh so horrible.. or I just watched them too closely.

Heroes went downhill after the first season though.
I still enjoyed it though.
It was one of those shows where even though the first season or one of its many seasons may suck, it was still interesting and semi-fun to watch imo.
Personally I liked all the parts where they fight with their powers, there wasn't enough of that I think. I wanted to know at least how Sylar decides to become a good person and how he would change and stuff. NBC should make like a mini season to fill in all those questions they left at the end, like how Claire's fall changed everything and how it will be for people with abilities.
I wanted to see one epic last battle with abilities you know, where everyone is working together in one last stand off.
I liked it but I can see it being canceled. The curse of Summer Glau :smith:
My only gripes with this show are that the CGI is way too obvious and Chess just talks about chess, he doesn't really feel like a chessmaster but that's likely to change as the show goes on. I like that The Cape isn't a fully fledged badass, he still gets his ass kicked
Why [sp] didn't he kill the tower? [/sp]
Because he's a goody goody.
This show is stupid and generic as fuck.
NBC needs to stop airing shitty television.
Chuck is like the only remotely good thing they have.
Because he's a goody goody.
Does he make your stomach turn?
Because he's a goody goody.
Lame. Why can't be have more badass superheroes?
It's only been one episode. For all we know he loses it and murders someone and this show turns out to be a deconstruction of the superhero genre
