It's been 6 days, and the best news story of the year has already happened.
One more practical use of duct tape (if MythBusters has taught me anything, is that duct tape has many uses) :v:
BDSM mile high club
Imagine how awkward it was when it landed and they called for assistance with him, Getting him un-taped.
kinky
God DAMNIT.
Someone can't handle their booze.....
Misunderstood drunk guy is scared of flying, drinks liquor in order to get him through the flight.
too much mead
I guess, the passengers who restrained him could get in some trouble, because you can't just bind and gag someone, even if he is misbehaving. The law says so I guess. I'm thinking that restraining limited to securities with a licences or something.
I'm not saying that it was wrong. It was the best to do so for all involved persons. Since he started attacking passengers, it was done in self-defense, so it's completely lawful.
That's really embarrassing for him, I almost feel bad. But the MacGyver with the duct tape takes the cake.
is it just me or is the thread title missing a verb

Yes you can on a flight! If the crew wish to restrain someone they are allowed to, and the passengers are of course allowed to help.

Ya they should have called a security guard

You guess a lot.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a judge that would punish people for restraining someone who was attacking people on an aircraft.
The drunken passenger could try sue them, but he would lose. Being sued without a change to lose or punished could be trouble and stress too. That was the point I tried to show.

Securities aren't limited security guards, I also meant every one who is responsible for the security, such as the crew in this case (like Jsm said).
From the comments; "Not a very civil engineer after all." ohohoho
