There has been certain backlash from the gearhead community, after they found that [url=http://jalopnik.com/ken-blocks-845hp-hoonicorn-started-life-as-this-65-must-1671291554]the original car looked pretty damn good to be cannibalized[/url]... but IMHO, I think they did the right thing. It was a baseline Mustang with an anemic I6 engine, for crying out loud!
They ripped apart a classic to make that, I'm sorry but that's just wrong. There's fuck all left the original car, they should have just used an old shell not something pristine.
I don't disagree with the end result but like many other people I don't see why they had decided against just using some random shell instead of a complete, clean car either.
The only way someone could one-up Ken Block's "hoonicorn", would be if they turn an Audi RS6 Avant into a "German Ute" of some kind, put the *nastiest* V10 ever on it, and give it a semi "Euro Rat Rod" treatment, mixed up with LeMans elements and paint it with the glorious Gulf livery. That's what I'd do.
