A lot of African nations, minus South Africa and Egypt have a lot of poor military forces. It doesn't help much when your country undergoes coups and armies constantly change hands.

There's no concept of sections, or an organised section battle drill. It's literally "lads there's some lads in that general direction, probably in that building, go there kill them". And then they all run Benny Hill style towards the enemy firing madly at a vague target, brilliance.
