This happened in March but no one posted it as far as I can find http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/13/movies/hal-douglas-89-superstar-of-movie-trailer-narrators-dies.html?_r=0
Hal Douglas, a voice-over artist who narrated thousands of movie trailers in a gravelly baritone heard by “audiences everywhere,” as he might have put it, “thrilled by images never before seen ... until now!,” died on Friday at his home in Lovettsville, Va. He was 89. The cause was complications of pancreatic cancer, his daughter, Sarah Douglas, said. Mr. Douglas was known for a generation in the voice-over industry as one of the top two or three go-to talents, along with Don LaFontaine, the most prolific, who died in 2008, and Don Morrow, the voice of the “Titanic” trailer.
Video about him:
In a world...where the voice of a generation is gone...who....will be the next TRAILER GUY seriously though this sucks
Call me ignorant but I honestly didn't know that it was the same guy for all of those typical trailer voices. Rest in peace.
wow, I always had that big question in my head when I saw trailers like these "how do the narrators sound so alike everytime?" suppose I know now.
I suppose it's only fitting someone brings this video up. This is part of my childhood gone. I remember seeing those trailers as a kid and doing my absolute best to sound just like them because why wouldn't you.
Didn't he die over a month ago? On march 7th?
Maybe its just me, but there were times in that video he sounded like Roy Campbell.
In a world...where the voice of a generation is gone...who....will be the next TRAILER GUY seriously though this sucks
I was gonna say the same. To think that this guy had the voice that impacted a generation. In a world unlike any other... the voice that influenced a generation... has fallen silent. R.I.P Hal Douglas, coming soon to a memorial near you.
In a world where trailers will seem less epic, who will rise up to the challenge of voicing them? Coming this summer.

Man if he was your dad, you would hear his voice everywhere, always reminding you of home and your family.
