Superman's suit is as durable as superman, made from the cloth found in his escape pod.
But this begs the question, how did his mom stitch together the suit?

If I remember correctly, one source said that Superman has a type of force-field that constantly surrounds his body approximately a centimeter out from his body... That is why his costume remains intact most of the time.

For me, this is one of the best. Not because it's a lot of fighting, or the quality of the animation, but because it's different. It's not a typical hero-off fight, it's just one hero getting utterly fucked and taking it. Even though he doesn't have superpowers, he still fucking takes it. I think he almost dies in the animation as well. It's also a surprisingly dark moment for a "kid's show"

That was before "Crysis on infinte earths" to my knowledge. Other explanation is Superman's aura protects his suit.
