Perez dumps sponsor via Twitter in Trump row Via Motorsport _________________________
Sergio Perez has tweeted that he will ditch sunglasses brand Hawkers as a sponsor after a controversial comment it made regarding Donald Trump. - - - The Mexican F1 star took exception to a tweet from the official Hawkers account, intended to be light-hearted, which suggested that Mexican citizens could use its glasses to not show their ‘crying eyes tomorrow when you are building the wall’. In the wake of Trump’s controversial comments regarding the US/Mexican border and his shock win in the US election, Perez wasted little time responding to the tweet, claiming he will end his relationship with Hawkers. “Really bad comment,” he tweeted. “Today I am breaking my relationship with @HawkersMX. I will never let anyone make fun of my country.” The relationship between Perez and Hawkers is only weeks old, the brand having released it’s Perez-edition glasses on November 2 for a price of 725 Mexican pesos (approximately US$39). Now we know what brand of sunglasses Trump supporters will use...!
It's now a stigma to be self-aware apparently. "Mates, I am fully mexican myself, I didn't really use the tweet in a "mockingly manner", it's typical of mexicans to just laugh it up" "Furthermore one of our most important holidays is Day of the Dead, and even then we mock death itself, sorry if we offended you" For fuck's sake lighten up Sergio.
Also, whoever Hawkers's CM was, he's now looking for a job... :v:
Also, whoever Hawkers's CM was, he's now looking for a job... :v:
That's very unlikely.
That's very unlikely.
Well it depends. Could be taken as a major PR blunder, or as a boost in recognition, riding the wave of the US elections. Depends on what the CM boss think about it... [editline]9th November 2016[/editline]
It's now a stigma to be self-aware apparently. It's true, Mexicans tend to have self-deprecating humor, the Hawkers tweet is another proof of that. At first I didn't think it would be that big of a deal. I think Mr. Sergio Perez here is too "americanized".
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
Even if they had the cash to do it, I doubt it will be finished during your lifetime.
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
lol sure bud
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
Maybe Mexico can agree to build it so they can steal American jobs for one last time
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
keep telling yourself that buddy, because it won't happen and you know it.
Please remind me why trump supporters actually want to build this enormous monument to ignorance and trump's own ego?
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
America could build the wall but Mexico will never pay for it on principle so the cost of the wall will be loaded on to the people.
Please remind me why trump supporters actually want to build this enormous monument to ignorance and trump's own ego?
To stop illegal immigration that is already declining on it's own. [editline]9th November 2016[/editline]
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
Why would Mexico pay for it? How?
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
I was hoping Pvt. Martin would be the last person to become fully indoctrinated by Trump He beat the odds in a popularity contest, this is a fact and it is an accomplisment He will not beat the odds in geting a wall up, and getting mexico to pay for it. There's no memes to do it. There's no silent majority to get it done. Wasting our cash on a wall is a possibility but it'd prove to be a giant waste of tax payer money because mexico will not pay for it Not only that but it wouldn't do anything, seriously do you actually believe it would have any effect on illegal immigration? People will just keep overstaying their visas like they always do and the rest will just dig under it.
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
genuniely cannot wait to see how this giant waste of everyone's time plays out
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
I really would like to know how the FUCK we're supposed to make them pay for it. The moment we start bullying other countries like that is the moment we lose A LOT of credibility in the world.
Mexico is paying for the wall America will be building it
Neither of those statements are true.
Your Trump support literally shot yourself in the foot if you work with nuclear energy, because Trump doesn't believe in climate change
People who believe in climate change haven't done jack shit for nuclear energy
People who believe in climate change haven't done jack shit for nuclear energy
And people who don't will? Get real.
He beat the odds in a popularity contest, this is a fact and it is an accomplisment
hillary won the popularity contest, trump won the geographically weighted re-imagining of that popularity contest
People who believe in climate change haven't done jack shit for nuclear energy
And Trump is going to ensure that people who don't "believe" climate change won't do jack shit for nuclear energy either. I fully believe that you've made a mistake and have voted against your own interests if you care about nuclear energy and climate change.
People who believe in climate change haven't done jack shit for nuclear energy
do you really think that voting for the candidate who wants to dismantle the EPA and wants to put oil CEOs in his cabinet and whose vice president believes that we were meant to use up all the resources on earth by god and that the second coming will happen when we do is going to do anything for nuclear energy?

Any trump supporters want to explain what the wall is supposed to accomplish? Illegal immigrants? Don't most of them overstay after their work Visa's expire? And how exactly is revving up the coal engine going to incite use of nuclear power? Maybe you should build that wall around Florida to stop the rising sea level? Is trump not also re instating "trickle down" economics, by tax cuts for the 1%. That worked so well last time. Can you explain any merit for trump's policies?
keep telling yourself that buddy, because it won't happen and you know it.
Everyone who spent the last six months smugly saying 'keep telling yourself that buddy, because it won't happen and you know it' regarding the idea of Trump becoming elected sounds like an idiot right now. It would be foolish at this point to dismiss the wall as 'never gonna happen', even if it's unlikely.

His entire campaign was built around angrily shouting things that were made up on the spot, and people believed him. Or they wanted to spite Hillary. Or they thought Trump was an "outsider," which was disproved on day 1 after being elected by his cabinet choices (but really should've been immediately obvious when pointing out that he is a crooked businessman). I can't wait for people to try to pin the failings of the coming administration on anything but said administration.
And people who don't will? Get real.
His argument is, i believe, that if we went full on nuclear in the 80s till now global warming would be a fraction as bad as it is... there is even an argument to be made electric vehicles would have happened years ago since energy prices would be astronomically low... and he would be right, the green people fucked us by being on the right side but for the wrong reasons... ever since hillary won the dnc i knew we were fucked on the side of global warming...
Yeah there was never anything impossible about the wall. Its an expansive, costly project of infrastructure. The hardest part is assembling the political will which is why I think a more traditional omnibus border act will be passed.
Why would Mexico pay for it? How?
I believe the idea was that the money would be taken from the funding we currently send mexico, not that we would actually have mexico send us money for it. A lot of the early arguments about this were along the lines of "we give mexico money for valid diplomatic reasons, essentially to exert control and power over them, so we shouldnt just take that away for no reason" and i tend to agree even though i dont have much faith in american diplomacy.
