as long as you don't go when the doorbuster starts at a big place (walmart, best buy, etc) you should be safe
target and toys r us are also safer alternatives to wal-mart
if you're near a gamestop or radioshack you may want to check those out too, i managed to get the last ps3 at a gamestop about 6 hours after the doorbuster
