Hi guys many of you must study business studies at school or take an active interest in stock trading. It has its advantages i.e. making a nice sum of money and its disadvantages the high chance of losing if you dont know what you are doing.
I enjoy looking at stocks as it not only offers me the chance to make some money but is a great source for news and global affairs.
Have any of you had any experience trading?
You can use this thread to post tips and ideas.
Use it as a question thread as well.
Basics
- stock broker: someone who trades on behalf of you. Examples include the Halifax bank in the UK
- Trading fee's: With any transaction a fee will be charged in the UK this is typically between £10-£12 per transaction i.e. one to buy, one to sell
+ Any business terms you know that are associated in this field. Depression, spike etc etc
Indices
Major US - Dow Jones, NYSE, NASDAQ
Asia- ^SSEC, ^JKSE
Europe- FTSE, ATX
Im still learning and hopefully will for the rest of my life, my personal aim is to make more money than what I would get off the bank in interest. So not a very high goal but its something to aim for.
Cheers.
Ohh and you have to be 18+ well in the UK to trade.

I'm just starting out in stock trading. Still learning the ropes so I haven't risked much. I trade on NASDAQ right now, and my broker is TD Ameritrade. Any tips?
I've looked at doing ForEx before, anyone have any experience with it?

Take it easy there is no rush, you miss one opening wait for another. Perhaps pick a particular field of interest so you get a feel for the companies operating. Mine for example is the Banking sector and Mining.
Do your research before the investment and if there is a hint of doubt I'd personally drop it and re assess.
Keep an eye on the profit loss margins each quarter / year and check the news frequently.
Have patience with your investment, ohh so you made a quick .3% today you could treble that tomorrow.
Use common sense
Most of all.
Dont invest what you cant afford to lose.

No sorry, I trade with the Halifax as its my bank and takes minutes for the transfer and withdrawal of money. Though this looks a good alternative and offers alot more than the halifax, ill stick the website in the OP.
