Now, onto what’s going on with the image and updates. Tuesday evening, my brother James was shot and killed. Between being emotionally distraught/exhausted, and running around for the next week visiting family, I’m not going to be able to update monday. The desktop I’d like to have up Sunday is also probably going to be late. This is a very very trying time for me and my family, so I ask for your patience as I fumble around trying to get my feet back on the ground.
I’ll try to get something up on Monday and try to get a comic up on Friday. Thanks for the patience, folks.
GENEVA
-- A fight Tuesday between friends led to one man dead, and another charged with murder.
The Seminole County Sheriff's Office says James DeWitt, 34, was shot in the chest by a friend, John Rogers, 38, during an argument at Rogers home on Settler's Loop in Geneva.
The sheriff's office says DeWitt, his fiance and another friend were visiting Rogers. After drinking for several hours, there was some kind of argument. Deputies say Rogers then went to his bedroom, grabbed a rifle, and shot DeWitt in the chest.
Deputies say DeWitt was shot at close range. Rogers is partially blind.
"We don't know exactly what the verbal dispute was about, apparently it prompted some anger, and we know that Rogers left that living room, and got the firearm," said Heather Smith, spokesperson for Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
Rogers was taken to the John E. Polk Correctiona Facility. He's been charged with murder, and the state attorney's office will decide exactly what murder charges he will face.

why is everyone who is associated with a popular good web-entertainment things dying.
Who's gonna be next?
Really though, this must really suck to have your brother die.
only bad things happen to good people.
Holy fuck.
this really sucks and i hope that he will feel better after some time
He shouldn't have to apoligize for not making a comic, it's completely understandable.
Very unfortunate.

Because the web-entertainment arena has been running long enough now for its respective celebrities to suffer coincidental grief rather than random single moments of grief.
It's like how every few years 3 or 4 classic stars die all within the space of a handful of weeks. It's just inevitable.
This really sucks :(
What is Fanboy online?
between friends
...This must be a bad joke. How can you kill your friend in an argument, even though it might be bad? Seriously, what's up with people these days? Can't you just punch each others faces and have a beer afterwards? That's at least the thing I'd do.
What other comic artist has died recently?
only bad things happen to good people.
I guess i'm in the clear then.
What other comic artist has died recently?
Edd Gould man, he was one of the good ones.
I just don't understand how someone goes from "argument" to murder. Get a hold of yourself man! People these days just flip out over every little thing.

I hope you feel real good using a tragedy like this to push your hatred for Americans.

It's hardly limited to "these days". In fact I'd say it was probably worse in the past (see duels for example).
Drinking and guns don't mix.
It's also not a good idea to get in an argument with your host. Of course I'm sure the alcohol played a role in sparking the argument in the first place.
I've never been one to fight with my friends no matter how wasted I got, but I've have known people who get drunk and ALL they want to do is fight. Those are the worst people to get drunk with.
Ain't no friend of mine.
Man, fuck alcohol
AND Edd Gould just died, why do bad things only happen to good people?

Duels were gentlemen handling their arguments with pride.
These days it's only "whatchu been talkin' bout my momma, boyo? IMMA CAP YO ASS POW POW!"
There's no pride in that.

That was weird, replied to Hullu then my response got put in his post when he ninja edited.
only bad things happen to good people.
You know that old saying. Only the good die young. Ya, that sums up almost every thing.

Wait fuck seeing everyone's posts made me forget that his brother died not him
THANKS GUYS
Oh god I love Fanboy. Now I'm sad :(
Losing a sibling is probably the worst feeling, hopefully he gets better.

Yeah I know the old way of people shooting each other over trivial shit is much better than the new way of people shooting each other over trivial shit.

No one can take shitty jokes anymore.
Yeah I know the old way of people shooting each other over trivial shit is much better than the new way of people shooting each other over trivial shit.
You do realise that most of the time the two men never even intended to shoot each other? They'd just go out, purposely miss each other. All so that they could say that they tried to settle their differences, allowing both of them to get a pop.
But yeah, never read this guy's comic, and I don't have a brother or much of a sense of compassion, but from what I've observed it appears to be quite distressing to lose a loved one in such a manner.
There's more people that I've known and regularly hung out with that wound up getting shot over a dice game or bar fight. Doesn't bother me, but I think it's an indictment of our American society: A culture obsessed with death. In that "This man has in some manner wronged me, he must die!"
