I can't access it via firefox, but I just put money on my steam wallet fine via the steam browser. Fucking hell, 4chan, get out.
It's still working for me. Maybe it's just in UK-USA www.paypal.com
I can't access it fire firefox, but I just put money on my steam wallet fine via the steam browser. Fucking hell, 4chan, get out.
backend and api aren't affected afaik.
Disrupting businesses everywhere because a company did what they were told by a world power...awesome.
This is just getting ridiculous.
It's bouncing up and down.
I think this wikileaks thing is pretty stupid. not them, but the whole situation.
God Damn, the internet is stupid as hell. This is a good example of why vigilantism is illegal and retarded.
I think this wikileaks thing is pretty stupid. not them, but the whole situation.
Him getting charged for allegedly 'raping' someone is serious. The only shitty part is 4chan doing their whole "we aren't 10 year olds, we're legion LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLZZZZZZZZ" shit
This is getting monotonous, this will not accomplish anything, other than pissing people off.
They're gonna hit twitter next, according by their raid poster. I have stuff to buy and stuff to tweet about today, ffs.
I for one find this whole ordeal highly amusing
How will i access my $1.47?
I think that wikileaks has a right to publish articles that bring light to injustice but not ones that can threaten the safety of the general public. A totally transparent government isn't feasible and Julian Assange is pretty much threatening the US with it's insurance files. He shouldn't be executed but he shouldn't be called a divine savior. That said this probably has jackshit to do with Wikileaks and more about anonymous wanting to raid just for the sake of being anti-social twats.
Practically the whole internet uses Paypal's frontend (the part that is down) as a staple part of conducting their business, and if it's down it's going to majorly disrupt purchasing heavily, not only on a small scale for purchasing steam games but all the way back to stocks and share prices of these companies.
They're gonna hit twitter next, according by their raid poster. I have stuff to buy and stuff to tweet about today, ffs.
Won't that kind of defeat the whole purpose? I mean that's Wikileaks main form of communication.
I don't get why their attacking these different businesses when the governments bully them into doing this to Wikileaks. Why don't they get their heads out of their asses and attack the head machos.
Fuck off, I use Paypal to pay for nearly everything.
Now these fucktards are messing with my business. If I so much as hear someone mention they're part of this in person, I'll punch them in the fucking kidneys.

Honestly now? You're being dense.
I use Paypal to receive payments for my business. If it's down, my business is not able to generate any profit. [editline]9th December 2010[/editline]
And the optimistic award goes to... Honestly now? You're being dense.
You'd be surprised. Mastercard fell between 2% and 6% when it was hit.
We're able to generate profit right now on our end, multiple tests run fine retrieving generated copies of pages from paypal's secure pages, a lot of the front end that doesn't involve direct transactions is fine.
There is no reason to DDOS paypal because they took a business decision. The people who are doing probably have no idea why they are doing it.
rrr arrr rrr so angry they arrested a guy for rape charges and since it's likely they're false accusations he'll be released soon what do I do god I'm so frustrated OH I KNOW I'll attack a massive business that will only result in people loosing money and will have absolutely no effect on the situation whoever decided to ddos paypal probably kicks their computer every time they die in a game, same mentality there
They're gonna hit twitter next, according by their raid poster. I have stuff to buy and stuff to tweet about today, ffs.
If they're DDOSing the whole twitter site, that would be going too far. Ironically, cutting off Wikileak's twitter page.
paypal shuts their servers down to prevent loss of confidential data including bank accts everyone gets pissed at gov't thus applying a great deal of pressure ooooooooo :smug:
paypal shuts their servers down to prevent loss of confidential data including bank accts everyone gets pissed at gov't thus applying a great deal of pressure ooooooooo :smug:
No.
I'm happy that Wikileaks is doing, but you shouldn't DDoS things, it's fighting fire with fire and showing that we're no better than they are.
I love how they're only DDoSing http://paypal.com, but http://www.paypal.com, https://paypal.com, and https://www.paypal.com work just fine. Quality work there, fellas.
